Alpine Light 28L Backpack

Head into alpine environments equipped and prepared with the Alpine Light 28L Backpack from Mountain Hardwear. Built for single-day ascents or backcountry ice climbing, the Alpine Light is packed with features to make your light-and-fast ascent seamless—at least in terms of gear organization. Exterior lash points and ice axe attachment, coupled with a reinforced A-frame ski carry allow your ascent and descent gear to be at the ready. In the meantime, the cavernous interior holds all your other essentials to stay warm, fed, and hydrated.

This pack is also hydration compatible so you don't have to have worry about dehydration as your approach leads you farther into the wilderness. And even when your approach logs high miles, the dual-density shoulder straps sit comfortably on your shoulders as the foam sheet supports your back—if you choose to keep it for support. For lighter-and-faster ascents, buck the aluminum frame and foam sheet all together to minimize weight as you vie for the summit.

  • Fully-featured lightweight pack for remote alpine ascents
  • Multiple lash points to keep your gear within reach
  • Removable foam pad for ultralight expeditions
  • Exterior ice axe attachment points for long approaches
  • Reinforced loops for seamless A-frame ski carry
  • Dual-density shoulder straps for comfortable trekking
  • Removable pocket for essential items

Great on-route pack!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I’ve used this pack for a few years now for rock and ice multipitch climbing. It carries well and has great ice tool and crampon attachments. The slim profile keeps it from getting in the way while climbing. It’s my favorite multipitch pack so far!

Great on-route pack!
