Just Perfect!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This is my go to down jacket on the cold days when the temps is -4. Keeps me warm and toasty, and the length is perfect. I would highly recommend this jacket! What's cool about Mountain Equipment is that you can trace where the down is from, the inside label has a code you can type and go to

Great Length! Cozy!

  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: XL

I think the Cosmos (Blue) and Blackberry are showing the wrong images above. This jacket is LONG! The black image appears to be correct, but none of the images do much justice for the actual shape. It has a slight curve to it (vs the very straight looking photos above).

This is a great length! I am 5'5" and the XL hits me mid thigh (vs a lot of long jackets that hit my knees). I prefer this length. It's really cozy, and relatively light (at least compared to a lot of big winter down jackets, and especially compared to synthetics).

Blizzard Ready!

This is a zero degree sleeping bag I can wear! Seriously though, this jacket is a life saver if you get cold easy. I mainly bought this jacket because of the length, I had been looking for a down parka that I can wear with anything and doesn't come with a fur hood . The front of the jacket goes all the way down to my mid-thigh. The back length of the jacket is a little longer than the front, which is nice because it covers my bum easy. The jacket fits true to size and I am still able to put a couple layers underneath if I needed to but there hasn't been a need to over compensate with extra layers. I wear this jacket skiing on super cold days (15 and below) under my long shell. I wear it on hikes and on cold desert days bouldering waiting to attempt the next problem. I also think that Mountain Equipment is underrated, Try them out!

Unanswered Question

Been trying to do some research on the mountain equipment line but I'm having a hard time doing a proper comparison.. Lumin vs. Lightline-- is there a big difference ? I am purchasing for a solid good down jacket, but specifically for an upcoming trek- climbing 3 volcanos in Ecuador with the tallest over 20,000 ft.. so I need something solidly constructed and very warm. Do I need to go up further and look in to the K7 or Gasherbrum? Thanks for any advice!

First of all, did not purchase on this site. I had not heard of ME before but a friend told me about the quality and style. I decided to go for it and am glad I did. The jacket feels like a down blanket and is very warm. Glad I purchased.
