Block out the cold.

A specialist piece for serious winter use, the Mountain Equipment Men's Eclipse Hooded Fleece Jacket brings warmth, stretch, and dry comfort to your mountain mission in a low-bulk package. Pontetorto Tecnopile fleece wraps your body in toasty warmth when you're facing frigid, early morning winds at the start of a dawn patrol tour, and then also wicks moisture and dries exceptionally fast after a particularly demanding approach.

And with that strenuous exertion usually comes some unwanted smells, so Mountain Equipment thought ahead and equipped this top with a Polygiene anti-microbial treatment that fights off funky odors for freshness after the adventure. The close-fitting hood provides you with face protection and an offset closure to prevent chafing while blocking out the cold, and the thumbholes at the end of the low-bulk cuffs keep your fit snug while boosting defense against the elements.

  • High-performing baselayer for warmth and stretch in the elements
  • Fleece construction offers cozy, quick-drying performance
  • Active fit keeps the piece close-to-skin
  • Anti-microbial treatment keeps nasty odors at bay
  • Thumbholes at the end of the cuffs seal out wind
  • Zippered chest pocket offers safe stash for maps or snacks

I love this jacket as I can wear it for pretty much any adventure wash it and wear to work with a pair of jeans. Until I had this piece most of the stuff I had comparable to this was a pullover. It is super rad to have the full zip on some variable temp days. thanks!

A mountain essential.

I take this with me almost every time I go out, it's a great jacket for big rock routes and just as good for ice or Alpine climbing. The Pontetorto fabric dries super fast if you sweat it up on an approach and it packs small when you stuff it in a pack. It's the perfect layer and a waterproof or soft shell, stretchy and totally unrestrictive. The hood goes under a helmet really well when you need it to and the chest pocket fits a phone. I wear mine in the mountains, at the crag, in the gym and to the office... just about everywhere!
