Merrell Polarand 8 Waterproof Boot - Women's

Even makes Yetis jealous.

When most people open their curtains and see a blizzard of epic proportions, they brew up some hot chocolate and settle in for a day by the fire. Not you though; you see that as an opportunity to get out there and enjoy it. Throw on the Merrell Women's Polarand 8 Waterproof Boot and snowshoe or hike without getting cold feet. 1.5mm thick waterproof leather uppers and the M Select Dry membrane seal out the worst winter storms, and 250-gram Thinsulate insulation fools your feet into thinking they're at home next to the fire. The bellows-style tongue keeps unwanted debris and wetness from creeping in on the top of your foot. Merrell added an ActiveHeat insole that has silver reflective film added, in order to reflect the heat of your foot back to your foot—where it should be, rather than losing it to that cold, snowy ground. The only thing you'll need to worry about with these boots is having a Yeti steal them out of jealousy.

I just adore these boots. They are super warm, even though this photos is a late spring photo. Luckily, I live in the mountains, so I can wear them almost year round. They do get hot, though.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 9..5

Look no further.

If you need a warm boot, here it is. Warm, comfy, solid on wet rock. What else is there to say? I could say that they are really comfortable, again, because they seriously are. And very warm.

This photo of me is just before I walked into our first winter storm of the season. The boots handle perfectly in snow. The are warm, dry and don't slide. I found them breathable, as well, when used in warmer temperatures. I've never used this in the hot summer months, but definitely through the spring, fall and winter.

In boots, I'm a size 9 but I had to get a 9.5 in these, which is very unusual.

I'm not leaving a huge review because they are honestly perfect. I'm so happy I found these. This is and All-Star boot.

Great boot!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small

I've had these for a month. They've been on 2 long hikes of 10-25 miles through WET terrain and kept my feet dry and warm with a medium weight sock. I did buy them a half size larger than my usual Merrell hiking shoes.

Sturdy Boot- Runs Small

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small

I wish I had taken to heart those that said the boot ran small... I ordered my typical Merrell size (8), and can only comfortably wear the boot with my very thinnest socks. I am returning for a half size up to hopefully help with the fit.

My initial impression of the boots is that they will be exactly what I am looking for, but will take a bit to break in. Out of the box they are very stiff.

I took one star off because of the sizing, I hate having to order a different size for a different style with the same manufacturer.

Tired of cold feet

I got the boots for training in cold weather. They are a bit stiff and feel like snowboarding boots. They definately run small so get a size up. Great boots! Love them.
