Comfort for hiking!
These are the most comfortable lightweight hiking boots I have ever owned. They give me the space I need in my wide feet and long toes. Also great arch support. I am now hooked on Merrell!

Got me up AND down Mt Kilimanjaro
LOVED my Moab 2 hiking boots - extremely comfortable, kept my feet dry, and after each day on an 8 day trek to summit of Mt Kilimanjaro, my feet felt great, not sore, throbbing or sweaty like other hiking boots I’ve tried.

Put them to the test in New Zealand
Super comfy and supportive from the get go. Didn't get a chance to "wear in" these hiking shoes prior to a trip to New Zealand. So had to pull them on for my first hike. Climbed a moderate ranked hike with an elevation gain of 1300 ft full of uneven ground and rocks over a course of a few miles. These boots handled it with no problem, they gripped the ground well and I lost no traction. Went on to do several more hikes while in NZ and was so happy I had brought these with me!

Give them a chance
I almost gave up on these. The material where the tongue meets at top near the ankle was folded in and was extremely uncomfortable but I trained it to fold out. It took awhile to figure out how to tie them in a way they were comfortable at the ankle. They have a tendency to tighten up after a few steps. I think another speed hook (or two) would be helpful. After walking approximately 12 miles or so on the treadmill (you can’t return them if they’re dirty) I decided they will work great for my hike in Maine later this year and took them out to a changeling trail near home and they were amazing! Wiggle room for my toes without my feet sliding around, great arch support and my feet were happy. So, I’m very glad I didn’t give up on them!!

good choice for climbers
The covering is excellent, and the waterproof effect has fully withstood the recent torrential rain.

Comfortable and sturdy
These are very comfortable and they seem very sturdy. I'm still getting used to them because this is the first pair of shoes i have that have such strong arch support, but there's been very little to break in beyond that. The wide width is seems to be a true wide, but if you have a high vamp the shoes might be a little snug at first.
