    Traction-grabbing support.

    Bumped out to a voluminous 2.6 inches in width, the Maxxis Minion DHR II 3C/EXO/TR Tire provides excellent traction and a plush, bump-smoothing feel as you rip descents at high speeds, rally across boulder-strewn trail sections, and pedal over bumpy roots in the forest. This particular DHR II retains the burlier side knobs borrowed from the legendary Minion DHF, but it's specifically designed for greater support when you're braking heavily and leaning into corners at high speeds. It's not quite as massive as proper plus-sized tires, meaning it won't feel overly vague and squishy like some 2.8 and 3.0-inch tires on the market.

    3C MaxxTerra compound is comprised of softer shoulder knobs and a medium density center, so it rolls relatively quick down the trail, yet grips like crazy when you lean into corners and hit berms at higher speeds. Underneath the medium density center is a slightly harder rubber, so it'll last a long time once you start to wear away the top layer of rubber. This triple-density rubber compound is more grippy than 3C MaxxSpeed used on cross-country bikes, yet a bit faster and longer lasting than the softest 3C MaxxGrip compound used primarily for downhill applications.

    It's beefed up with EXO sidewall protection, so you won't have to worry about it blowing out prematurely or succumbing to sidewall tears and slits when you're riding across sharp rocks and rubble on the trail. Maxxis makes it tubeless-ready, so you can readily seal this tire to gain numerous benefits in traction, bump compliance, and support at lower tire pressures.

    Maxxis Minion DHR II 3C/EXO/TR Tire - 27

      These tires are simply amazing, they are worth the extra weight and actually are not that bad for climbing, they rip on the downs. This tread pattern and compound simply cannot be beat for maximum grip. I used to run 3" tires and loved the plus tire for a while, but honestly 2.6" really is the sweet spot as far as plus goes, I've tried and ridden just about every tire out there and size, and for me this is the goldilocks tire for sure.
