    Tungsten UL Tent: 3-Person 3-Season

The Marmot Tungsten UL 3-Person 3-Season Tent's ultra-lightweight materials and construction make it your new go-to when you want to make a lot out of a little. Materials aside, Marmot also gave this tent a design that maximizes living space so you and your hiking partners don't feel like a couple of sardines packed into a tin can at night. Two D-shaped doors make for stealthy and convenient ins and outs throughout the night, while the two vestibules provide plenty of dry storage space for you and both your buddies' camping gear.

Emphasizing weight savings without compromising durability, Marmot used a seam-taped, 30-denier nylon fabric for the floor and fly of the tent. Then it backed the canopy with a no-see-um mesh canopy for a bug-free night out under the stars. Three DAC Pressfit poles make for an easy and secure setup, while the strategic clip placement provides a larger interior volume. Meanwhile, the lampshade pocket is designed to disperse light from a headlamp for a well lit space once the sun sets.

    • A spacious tent with equal parts toughness and lightweight
    • Two doors to offer easy entry and exit
    • DAC press-fit poles withstand wind and wear
    • Vented fly helps prevent condensation from building up
    • Lamp shade pocket helps evenly distribute light
    • Small interior pockets stash maps and snacks

    Light, easy, spacious

This had everything I was looking for in a tent. Set up is very quick, it sleeps 3 people very comfortably and is pretty light to pack. We had a night with horrendous winds and it held up jwell!

Light & easy to set up.

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

What I love about this tent: (1) It's light... ultralight. (2) It's easy to set-up. Four tent poles - any pole can go in any corner. There is no right-side-up or up-side-down to the poles. Super easy. (3) It's dependable. We camped through a lightning/wind/hail/rain storm in New Mexico. With the tent guyed-out (more than in this pic), we were completely comfortable inside...except for the lightning. Also, the zippers are great. We never once had a zipper stick. Wish I could say the same for my sleeping bag. (4) It's cool. Because of the lightweight mesh panels, this tent is nice & cool for hot weather camping. Maybe not great in the winter, but I'm more concerned about heat. (5) Comfort. The 3P size is perfect for me, husband, and our small dog. I wouldn't be comfortable with three people inside.

I needed to buy a few more stakes to properly guy this tent out. Also, it doesn't come with a footprint. Otherwise, I have not found anything I don't like about it and I'm picky.

Light & easy to set up.

I love marmot tents because they are so easy to set up! I used this tent for this weekend on an overnight backpacking trip and it saved me lots of weight which helped a lot when the trail was so steep! I used the three person for myself, a friend, and a dog, and it worked great and held our gear comfortably with plenty of space. Unlike other UL tents, this gave us plenty of head space as well, while the walls went straight up, unlike other tents where the walls can start to angle in leaving you little head space. This tent is definitely a good choice if you are looking for something UL while also looking for comfortable space to hang out in if you need.

        Awesome Lightweight Tent

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This tent was so nice and lightweight and was able to pack down really easily. It was easy to assemble and it was well ventilated but the fly kept me free from moisture and bugs. The tent is plenty of room for two people with bags and three people would be a bit of a tight squeeze but could be done if needed.

        Good Quality Lightweight Tent

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought the Marmot Tungsten UL 3 person tent because I wanted a light weight tent with a little more room. My friend and I hiked it in to Havasupai and wanted something that wasn't too burdensome and that had extra space for us and our gear. The tent was super easy to set up. I like the hook system they use. There was a lot of room for the two of us (two females) and our packs. The weather was nice (no wind, low of 45/high of 70) so I can't say much about how it holds up to the elements.
So far I am happy with this tent.

        Great tent

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought this tent for two of my friends to use on our weekend adventures. This is what they had to say. "This is a very spacious tent , it was able to fit two of us plus two large duffel bags and still had room. It also has lots of ventilation, almost too much. We just used this tent in the Utah desert and even with the fly on once the wind picked up all the sand was blown in on top of us. Since the entire doors are mesh the sand easily came in. If it is not windy with sand this is a perfect tent since it can withstand a lot!"

        Just awesome!

Yes.....we get it....it's a three man but truth is my hiking pal and I wanted a tent with room, we wanted it light, and we wanted protection from the elements. Well we found it with the marmot tungsten. We get the fact that it's not an ultralight solution being a two man squad with a three man tent but we made up the difference by hitting leg day at the gym a little more:) no big deal. It held up in the Wind River Range which I believe is a true proving ground for any gear you intend on testing if it's worthy. On another note, my hats off to Marmot....they left out nothing when it came to designing this tent. From the moment we assembled it we knew it was well worth the $$$ Also a big thumbs up to the crew at Backcountry for providing great tech specs which provided all the information we needed in order to make a decision with the tent.
