Great quality pants with good functioning zip off legs! Bought two more pairs after using them the first time. Good fit for a small to medium build adult male.

    Crotch Vent! Nuf Said!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 34/Long

Man do I love these. 6'1" and I have the 34 Long. They are a tad long but I prefer that. They are well built and very comfortable. My favorite feature is the crotch vent. Man is that nice when hiking! I will never own another pair without it. Also the pockets are great and I love the zips at the ankles for removing the legs without having to take shoes off. I know thats pretty standard but some do not have it. Get these if you like to cool your undercarriage...

    uncomfortable for my body type

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 36

Good construction, fits true to size in waist and length, baggy everywhere but the crotch. The problem is the crotch is high and has inadequate room. Size 36 waist fits, size 38 has enough room in crotch but is way too large.

Could i ask to you? What is the inseam size of pants do you buy? Is the ctoch room narrow? The size you want to change is short -> regular or ragular -> large?

    Great Great

Super comfortable and the zipper is great for converting pants to shorts

Love these as pants or shorts

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

Great fit. Super comfortable and one of my favorite hiking pants. The zipper on the side is great for converting pants to shorts without taking off your boots, too.

      Pretty good for the price

bought them on sale. the legs are a little loose but it still has a nice fit. grey seems to hold up better to abrasion and wear than the brown.

      Great pants

I've been buying my dad this style of pants for a couple of years now. He loves them and won't wear many others. Light weight and fit perfectly. Plus they turn into shorts, how much better can they get.

Perfect hiking pant (even for a girl)

I have been searching for the perfect convertible pants for years. There is a true absence of good convertible pants for women - the fit is always wrong (way too short, too tight at the leg zipper, awkward capris instead of shorts, too boxy). I finally tried these men's pants and they fit me like a dream. I'm 5'8, 150 pounds and the 30 regular worked great. Maybe a tad shorter than I prefer, but probably a good thing so the cuffs don't drag in the mud. I wore these for the first time recently on a 3-day backpacking trip in the Flat Tops Wilderness. They proved themselves water resistant, and uber comfortable. Love wearing them as pants or as shorts. Also love that the bottoms of the pants have zippers so you can easily remove the legs while wearing shoes. Pockets, slate gray color - all solid. Could use a drawstring so that Day 3 of wear they aren't falling off. All in all, so thrilled to have found these!

On this review, I’m sold. Thanks for pointing out several features about the fit to your wt/ht & most important: über comfortable even after a mud/water/3 day Flat Iron trek! Great to know they didn’t get torn up in scree & you were able to ventilate by turning them into shorts! They appear to be a 2 in 1 pair of pants which mean you’ll save weight (you betcha that ounces count on a long hike!)

        Evening wear

        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: 34-34

Bought these pants for a week motorcycle trip to Maine. They worked great and packed very small and light. Would have got a five star but found them a little tough to get the legs zippered later in the evening.

        Great Pair of Pants!

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: LARGE

I haven't been able to use my pants backpacking yet, but this past weekend I did wear them camping with me. I found that they were super comfortable to wear. When it was cool, I felt like my legs kept warm and then when it warmed up, I zipped off the legs and was comfortable.
