Not as pictured...
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit: Runs large
I bought this jacket because it was better than the Patagonia Tres 3 in 1 jacket for the functionality of the GoreTex and the slit in the back to give more room for movement without having to unzip the bottom.
Much to my surprise, when I got the jacket there was no slit in the back. I contacted backcountry and they did a search on the inventory and found that all of their jackets do not have a vent on the back hem. So the pictures, its description and pretty much every picture out there is wrong. The jacket pictured on this site is wrong. Now, backcountry said they would be changing the picture to represent the true product. But Im not sure how much I trust them. I find it hard to believe their entire inventory is wrong. I was told I would be contacted within 24 hours with an answer/resolution. I had to contact them after 48 hours. So we shall see if they were being truthful if the picture listed above actually does change.
I contacted Marmot and told them that Backcountry has a large inventory of jackets that are not what is represented on their site. That is a huge inventory control issue and I hope it gets figured out. I gotta believe Backcountry is one of Marmotâs largest accounts and probably wants to get this figured out.
Despite the construction issue, this jacket is great for its combo of down and goretex. Super warm and waterproof. I would say itâs a tad on the large side. Sometimes mediums in Marmot are snug on me but this was plenty big with room.
I bought this jacket, returning it because it is huge. No slit vent on the bottom hem.
