- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: Medium
For sizing purposes I wear size medium or 15 x 35 in a shirt. This is a lovely breathable rain jacket with nice features that all work. The cuffs have velcro closures. The pockets and pit zips have single slider zippers that can be operated one handed. The generous sized hood can be cinched down with three elastic drawstrings. The fit, described as "Athletic" by Marmot, allows me to wear either a t-shirt alone or my winter hiking rig (puff vest under a Proton light jacket) without feeling baggy or binding. The fabric (Evodry which Marmot claims has "a patented molecular waterproofing that never wears out" and, incongruously, "a long lasting DWR finish)" has a rubbery texture on the inside that can feel somewhat clammy on bare skin, however, I have worn this jacket through countless downpours and come out dry on the other end every time. Bravo, Marmot. One, tiny beef: I have an ape index of 3.5 and the sleeves - when I reach upwards - are a tad short. Normal people should be fine. This is a great jacket and on sale it is indeed a steal.
