Its Gore-Tex membrane boasts reliable waterproof protection to keep you comfortably dry face shot after face shot, while a thin three-layer construction makes this jacket extremely packable for bootpacks and skintracks.

Great Technical Jacket

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

The list of features I wanted in a technical hardshell is pretty long with this jacket (well thought out) for my charging days on the mountain--GTX 3L, the C-Knit variety which means it's a little more soft and supple than your typical hardshell, very protective, breathable, nice length to the pitzips when winter feels more like spring, removable snow skirt when I want to go more minimalist. This is a high contender for that outershell in my layering system. For me, I couldn't quite nail the fit (I'm tall but have regular arm and torso measurements; wished this was slightly more generous in overall length)...still...very well designed and the colors are awesome.

Thoughtfully designed

My friend recently used the women’s Mammut pischa HS hooded jacket for a few resort ski days and a couple backcountry days of skiing. She is loving this jacket. A couple of the exceptional features she pointed out include the easy-to-grab zipper pull on the front and the thumb hole loop wrist gaiters. The hood fits easily over her helmet and stays put while skiing. One area for improvement would be to soften the fabric around the chin, as this causes some uncomfortable skin chaffing after a full day of skiing. Overall, she recommends this jacket for both fit and performance.
