Mammut Nordwand Pro HS Pant - Men's

Get vertical.

Designed to tackle just about all of the activities that the vertical world has to offer, the Mammut Men's Nordwand Pro HS Pant is a top-performer whether you're ice climbing, ski touring, alpine climbing, or a blend of all three. Gore-Tex Pro gives this thin and light three-layer shell high levels of waterproofing as well as the extreme breathability that those equally as extreme endeavors call for. Fully taped seams enhance waterproofing by preventing moisture, snowflakes, or raindrops from seeping through.

Mammut equipped the Nordwand Pro with two-way side zippers for easy on and off as well as ventilation. The raised waistband features external adjustments and a moisture-wicking Coolmax lining. Additionally, the snow gaiters accommodate mountaineering boots as well as ski boots, and Mammut reinforced the external cuffs with Dyneema for crampon protection. This pant attaches to Mammut's Nordwand Pro HS Jacket for complete coverage.

  • A versatile hard shell for vertical adventures
  • Gore-Tex Pro shell is waterproof and breathable
  • Coolmax lining wicks away moisture and dries quickly
  • Side zippers make for easy-on-and-off and ventilation
  • Suspenders are removable and adjustable
  • Snow gaiters keep elements at bay and protect footwear

Awesome fit and high quality material!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

These pants are awesome! They offer a verity of sizes to find the perfect fit. I am tall and slim and have a very tough time finding a pant that fits in North American brands, and these European brands feel tailor made for the lanky types like myself. The fabric is also superior to any rigid hard shell I have had in the past, the elastic goretex panels move with you and provide stretch so you are not continuously resisting the fabric. It is also slim fitting throughout the leg, instead of the baggy pyjama fit that seems to have become common place (and often results in catching in crampons or ski edges). Haven't been able to use them extensively yet but looking forward to testing out the breathability/air permeability improvements in the goretex on an upcoming ski mountaineering trip in the north Selkirk's. Glad to see North American distributors are starting to carry some of the really high quality, form fitting European brands like Mammut and Norrona!

Used these Ice Climbing during a demo day and they held up great. Very comfortable and well made.

UPDATED: Had a pair of these replaced by Backcountry (amazing process by the way - thank you). New pair arrived and I've put a couple of hard ski days into them. This is more like it!!! For some reason I think my first pair were just... wrong somehow. These feel quite different, the cut is more comfortable and more like Mammut gear I know. These are a great pant - they feel bombproof, warm and super waterproof.
There are a lot of hidden extras in these - full length side zips, comfortable, fully adjustable bib straps, calf and ankle tightening Velcro straps, internal gaters and boot hooks, nice anatomical cut, large hip pockets etc etc. Great, hard charging pant. These will be my go-to's for a while I can see.

Can anyone else comment this quality and functional experience, as I'd like to know if this is an isolated quality control incidence or design faults in this product? I'm looking at getting them and don't wish to buy something that is just going to be returned. Thanks.

New pair on the way - will let you know in a week! I suspect it's isolated. I have the softshell version and a fair bit of their other gear and it's absolutely bombproof.

Glad I could help you get this all sorted. :)
