Don't be a victim of frozen fingers.
Brave frigid temps and blowing snow in search of fresh powder with the Mammut Women's Niva Mitten. It has a low-profile design that won't feel clunky, and DryTech waterproofing keeps your hands dry. The goat leather palm is durable and allows excellent dexterity so you can keep a firm grip on your ski poles. A fleece lining helps your fingers stay toasty, and a cinch cuff closure keeps snow from getting in.

- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
These are almost awesome mittens. The main body of the mitt is super comfy, and they seem like they'd be great in a lot of colder conditions. The materials and construction are really nice, too. I almost kept these, but sent them back because the thumb was just a little too tight on me, and my hands (when they get cold) tend to get very cold, especially my thumbs (since they're all on their own), and I could see that being a problem (an annoying and painful one) for me. I have pretty average sized hands (size 7) and bought a medium, and the fit was great otherwise. If not for the thumb, I'd have kept them even though they were way more (even on sale) than I'd normally spend on a pair of mittens.

I'll be honest, when I first got this mitten I was a little disappointed because of it's low volume, assuming it wouldn't keep my hands warm on those zero degree days that are so common in WY in January. I couldn't have been more wrong. For a low volume piece, it is incredibly warm, packable and convenient. And it's easy to have the dexterity to deal with straps, buckles and ropes while on. I love this mitten for cold days touring, boot packing, resort skiing and riding, and climbing couloirs. All around A+.
