Put your big kid pants on.
Whether you're walking in the footsteps of the infamous female mountaineer, Lucy Walker, or chasing your little mountain goats up the local sledding hill, Mammut's Mittellegi Pro HS Pant for Women offer nothing short of an amply-reinforced experience. Named after the Mittellegi Ridge of the Eiger, these pants were inspired by 80 years worth of mountaineering experiences on this peak. Built for the steepest of climbs, unruliest of storms, and loudest of laughter, these pants tells stories of FA's, exhausted limbs, and summit smiles as wide as the Eiger itself.
If you find yourself in waist deep in a snowy blanche, worry not—the Gore-Tex Pro fabric utilizes three layers to keep sweat, snow, and other weathery junk off of your skin for long term comfort, so you stay dry whatever the weather. In addition to being weather-resistant, the Pro 3L material is abrasion resistant, which will certainly come in handy when your snowy treks suddenly transform into rocky scrambles. The hem reinforcements and extra-high crampon protection serve as personal bodyguard for your ankles while the integrated ankle gaiters (with an adjustable hook-and-loop) prevent any sneaky snow from weaseling its way up into your baselayers. The full-length side zips permit impromptu bathroom breaks and necessary body heat dumps when your insides start to feel a reminiscent of a cast-iron pan.
Equipped with detachable suspenders, these pants have a girthy, raised waistband, perfect for keeping your internal goodies happy and far from topsy turvy. The Coolmax lining keeps your engine from overheating while the waistband can be adjusted from the outside to let out some steam. The leg pocket easily fits a trail map or a mini teleportation device, just in case the situation gets hairy.

Love these, but they do run small
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit: Runs small
- Size Bought: 10
I purchased last season's version but wanted to post the review to help others with fit.
I'm 5'4", 150 (athletic with hips) and got the 10. They fit, but it was close. They are tight at the bend of my hips but fit like a glove everywhere else and are a good length for me. The waist wasn't too tight and the adjusting straps are great for a custom waist fit. The 10 was the last one available and I took a chance. Definitely got lucky in getting the right size, I would have normally ordered an 8. There is no give in the fabric. Construction feels great, all the material and seams are high quality. Very happy after having no luck with fit for the longest time - I just wore the $30 bib from my local sports store. North Face also runs very small on me given my hips and thighs, so even though I sized up the fit is much better with these.
Wanted these to fit better
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: Runs small
- Size Bought: 8
The material is great, the attention to detail and how the pants are designed seems superb, unfortunately the butt just ballooned where the zipper is. If you're looking for technical pants, certainly a fantastic option as far a functionality, quality and durability. They pants themselves look great - just not on my body.
Note: Euro sizing. I usually wear a small in other brands and I ended up having to order a size 8 in these. Check out the fit guide - it will help you out.
