Mammut made the Men's Haldigrat HS Pant for freeriding power, backcountry touring, and even mountaineering. Its DryTechnology Pro membrane boasts extreme waterproof, breathable ratings for solid protection from snow and plenty of breathability for strenuous ascents. Large zippers on each side provide sufficient ventilation for steep skin tracks and springtime mountaineering endeavors. The bib is removable for proper coverage whether you're riding spring corn or winter powder. Mammut reinforced the seam edges with Dyneema for reliable durability against crampons and ski edges. One of the zippered pockets is sized for Mammut's Barryvox beacon.

Great quality. I enjoy the flexibility to use the suspenders or to remove them. Pockets are deep and securely stores my phone, food, and wallet

Great bibs, their ability to convert from bibs to pants will take a bit of getting use to but so far
Will take some getting use to the ability to convert. Also might need to change the one pads I use for telemarking. The membrane on the inside seems to stick to my soft knee pads when entering turns. For alpine they are awesome no problems, and work fantastic.

Nice fit and feel.
Love the color, the fit and feel. Only had them for this ski season, so time will tell if these pants are durable, but after 22 days on the mountain they've kept me warm and dry so I'd highly recommend. They do run a little tight in the upper leg, so if you spend a lot of time doing leg work in the gym you may have to order up a size.

Overall very solid pants for the price
For this price point, the pants can't be beat. Would be nice to have full zips for layering but still great ski touring pants. Cheeta color looks excellent in person too. The bib strap could be a little shorter. Seems overly long, but will probably work great for someone with a longer torso.

Excellent fit. The zipper on the bib of the pant seems a little on the cheap side. It slowly works its way undone. I've got a lot of knicks in the pocket where I keep my phone. While the thin material is great, it would be nice if it was a little thicker and more durable at the pockets.

After reading other reviews I cannot be too upset in how the top of the bibs fit. I'm 30x32 pants and most shirts I have issues where the mid section is overly baggy compared to the shoulders. I thought the reviews that the top was like a corset might be better fitting for me...not the case. The top was uncomfortably snug and sat much lower on the chest than expected. The vertical zipper on the top section does not have a clasp and the zipper easily runs itself down. The removal top portion has a hole at the interface of the zippers (where the vertical zipper meets the zipper that zips around to remove the top). This defeats the purpose of bibs and would easily allow for snow to enter the bibs. I would rate lower except that the pants portion of the bibs is well fitting and well made, constructed out of good waterproof materials. But I wanted to try some new bibs and now I just have another pair of pants. I would not recommend these to anyone, any body type.

Supple and Solid
To be honest, taking these out of the packaging I thought that I bought the wrong bibs. The pants were insanely soft and immediately made me think that these would not do the deed of keeping out the wind and moisture. Fast forward to finishing up a dawn patrol, and I'm extremely impressed by how the pants kept my legs dry and the wind out even on top of a wind-buffeted summit. Along with the awesome weather protection, the pants are super flexible which lends to being able to reduce bunched up clothing in specific areas of the lower body without having to fight the rigidity of the pants. 10/10 Do be aware that I'll update you with further info if durability does not meet the initial construction.

Great pants excellent features
I love the fit and features of these pants. I took off a few points because the stitching on the suspender strap attachment didn't last more than ten days.

Great bibs
Love the pockets in the front, deep for lots of storage. The ability to zip off the bib is next level. These are just a shell so they are not super warm on their own but are roomy enough to layer to add some additional warmth.

Great Back Country Pant
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I've worn these pant for 3 winters exclusively for backcountry skiing/touring, probably 40 days per season. They've been up Mt. Rainier, on yurt trips, and all over the Teton's and Rockies. They are light weight, not insulated, and have preformed well. The chest zipper is has a design flaw in that has never stayed closed. They really need a button, or zipper stop, or something to keep it closed. The chest girdle is quite tight, probably one of the reasons the zipper will not stay closed. After 3 seasons, one of the leg vent zippers has broken and one of the pocket zippers has broken. The pants are still in good condition despite the numerous crampon holes I have jabbed them with. Had it not been for the zippers I think these pants would survive another season or two before needing to be replaced. I will probably buy the same pair again, but need to do some research to see what is available. My guess is that these pants run a little small b/c I needed a size 38R. I tried size 36R, which is my typical pant size, and it was too tight.
