Mammut Gym Classic Climbing Rope - 10.1mm
MammutGym Classic Climbing Rope - 10.1mm

At your service.

The Mammut Gym Classic Climbing Rope exceeds expectations when it comes to your plastic-pulling requirements. Even though it boasts a big 10.1-millimeter diameter for a low impact force and high falls, the Gym Classic Climbing Rope remains relatively light because nobody likes to manage a heavy, husky rope.

  • Braided core
  • 10.1 mm diameter
  • 8.3 kN impact force rating
  • 7-8 UIAA falls

Go to gym rope

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I picked up the rope for three reasons. 1. There are not a lot of 50M ropes out there to choose from and I lead climb at a tall gym where 45M (even less ropes in this made in this length) is required. 2. Mammut make some of the softest ropes out there and it pays out super well and smooth while belaying in a Mega Jul or a GriGri+ (I lead belay with both) and 3. A 10.1 is perfect for the lifespan. I’ll be able to keep this gym rope a long time depending, of course, on how many leaders falls are taken on this rope. Word of caution, make sure to unwind this properly before your first use. Ill talk climbing anytime, contact me directly with my info above.

Catches falls

Great gym rope. It feels great in the hand and has caught several of my falls. I got the blue color and although it's actually blue with white and yellow twists when it's moving it looks red, white, and blue. 'Merica!

What is the length of this rope, and would it be an appropriate choice for a rock wall?

It's 40m (130 feet) long, and it will work for a rock wall as long as it's not too tall. It's short because it's intended for indoor climbing. Most outdoor climbing ropes are 60-70m long, I'd advise getting something like that.
