Mammut Eigerjoch Pro IS Jacket - Men's

A versatile, lightweight insulator.

Getting your layering right is one of the most important things you can do in the mountains, so a key piece like the Mammut Eigerjoch Pro IS Men's Jacket is worth its weight in gold. Luckily, the Eigerjoch's paltry 12-ounce bulk doesn't exactly tip the scales, but its Primaloft Gold synthetic insulation is remarkably warm and breathable, so you can wear it on long skins, tough approaches, alpine climbs, and ski descents. Pertex Quantum fabric repels wind and water, too, so the Eigerjoch functions almost like a softshell, and Mammut decked out key zones with Polartec Power Stretch panels so you can enjoy full mobility when you're climbing, skiing, or trekking. The hand pockets have been engineered to work smoothly with packs and harnesses, and the Eigerjoch stows away quickly into the chest pocket, so you can easily fit it into a pack or clip it onto your harness for quick access.

  • Pertex Quantum nylon face fabric
  • Polartec Power Stretch back and sleeve panels
  • Primaloft Gold synthetic insulation
  • Pack- and harness-compatible hand and chest pockets
  • Self-stowing chest pocket

Altair

Excelent Jacket, light and warn, perfect midlelayer, but....the size pattern is complete insane...I'm use Large size and this Jacket is too small...

    Quality Midlayer

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Definitely runs small, you will want to size up one size from what you normally wear. Even doing that, it is a very trim fit. Otherwise, I have nothing but love for this piece. The construction is excellent, featuring a great feeling face fabric, stretch panels in key areas, and excellent pocket placements. It's functional for climbing or whatever else and looks good. It's very warm for the weight - definitely not as breathable as say, a Polartec Alpha built piece, but warmer in my opinion.

    Great Midlayer

The slim fit is great under a shell. However, Mammut sizes can be a little inconsistent. I normally wear a medium but I can't even zip up a medium size of this jacket (though the medium Eigerjoch down jacket fits perfectly). The large fits me like a medium and is not baggy or big at all.

    Great warmth to weight ratio

Fits a bit small. I'm usually a medium in north face/arcteryx, got a large in this one. It fits well, definitely a trimmer fit than with the North American brands

Im the same size and height as you, do you think I should get a large or x-large?
