Light on weight, heavy on protection.
The Mammut Men's Alnasca Low GTX Approach Shoe has a surprisingly lightweight, low-profile feel for the burly protection it provides for trekkers and thru-hikers in increment weather. Mammut Does it Again
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: 11
Mammut usually isn't the first company you think of when you think of approach shoes, but they should be! This is my second pair of approach shoes from them and I also own a pair of mountaineering boots from them and have been very impressed.
First, these are lightweight but feel durable. I haven't put a ton of work into them yet, but they seem like they will hold up for many miles to come. Not to mention that they are great for long rocky hikes without any major foot discomfort!
Next, they were comfortable right out of the box! No major break in period for me with these guys, just take them out of the box and you are on your way.
Size wise, I find that Mammut fits very true to size, I have been an 11 ever since I can remember and this shoe was no different!
With a lightweight, durable, and waterproof approach shoe at a great price, who could ask for anything more!
