Alpine pack - Fast & Light: spot on
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Excellent quality with thoughtful considerations. The separate rope strap under the lid, minimal/light webbing, and slim feel are all examples of this. When loaded with 35lbs of gear the pack still feels trim and does not impede movement. The storable hip belt is useful in that is truly is out of the way when wearing a harness. My only negative is that I wish it had an emergency whistle integrated into the sternum strap. This pack is suitable for 3-season alpine climbs, two maybe three days in duration; or one/two day cold weather climb. Superb backpack.
