Good all around boots
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: 43.5
I bought these for high snowy passes on long trips this summer, but just got my first day hike in with them. I was concerned they wouldn't be comfortable for hiking, but they were great right out of the box. The soles are as stiff as I like hiking boots, which is very stiff for hiking, but the uppers are supple. The fit is snug but not too snug - my feet are narrow and slender. I bought a 43.5 and I nearly always fit a size 10 in any brand. I was on not steep snow for some time but the day was warm and my feet stayed very warm. I'll say more when I've actually put them to work.
Update - a few months later and I have taken them on long hikes with a backpack, and steep summer snow off trail in the Tetons with crampons. They've been great the whole way. However they're not as comfortable for hiking as my trail shoes and I wouldn't use them for that if I didn't expect snow.
