Oxygym Climbing Shoe

The La Sportiva Women's Oxygym Climbing Shoe features a female-specific fit that makes this shoe narrower with a lower overall volume compared to men's shoes. Whether you're a novice or a certifiable gym rat, this shoe gives you all-day comfort and the confidence necessary to stretch like your arachnid idol.

Crafted from synthetic WashTex fabric, this shoe shouldn't stretch too much, even after you spend two straight weeks working out a tough top-rope route indoors. Minimal asymmetry and a neutral profile make it easy to wear this sticky shoe for hours on end while you work slabby under-vert problems or slightly over-vert routes. The round toe takes to a variety of surfaces, and braving an actual outdoor rock for a wee bit of cragging doesn't require a separate shoe. The patented hook-and-loop closure system gives you two points of adjustment for a highly personal fit. Slip-lasted construction takes away a bit of stiffness so your wait for the wall isn't an agonizing experience.

FriXion RS rubber on the bottom is the stickiest sole La Sportiva makes. AirTex Silver lining manages foot moisture and minimizes stink by creating a hostile environment towards odor-causing bugs. The 1.8mm LaspoFlex midsole gives this shoe a thin shot of torsional rigidity while protecting your footsteps from the ground below. An anti-shock EVA heel insert means you can actually walk more than two steps in this shoe without falling on the ground in paw pain. WashTex fabric lets you throw this shoe in the washing machine when it starts to move up the wall on its own.

  • Comfortable climbing shoe made for multi-pitches and gyms
  • Flat last and low asymmetry optimizes all-day comfort
  • Washable, durable WashTex upper with breathable AirTex lining
  • LaspoFlex midsole with EVA heel for shock absorption
  • Frixion rubber sole offers traction on rock and plastic
  • Runs small, so we recommend sizing up for ideal fit

Coming apart after 3 months use

I've put it through the wringer

Only use them at the gym, never outside, and after 3 months of use the sole on both shoes is delaminating. Going to try to get a refund from La Sportiva, but would strongly advise against buying these. They also sweat a lot and the heel doesn't fit well

Tag inside shoe shows US Men's size

We've noticed that the size tags inside the shoes are showing the USA Men's sizes even though these are Women's shoes. LaSportiva is aware of this issue. They said that the box labels have the correct USA Men's and Women's sizes listed. The EU size is correct on the box and inside the shoe. I've attached an image to help explain this. These are sold as EU sizes, so as long as you use the Size Chart to convert your US Women's size to EU, you will get the correct EU shoe size. Don't forget to choose the correct size. Here is a sizing reference from LaSportiva: For rock climbing shoes: Choose soft shoes two to three sizes smaller than your street shoe size. We recommend you fit your trad shoes one to two sizes under your street shoe size. Remember to factor in stretch. Unlined slip-lasted shoes tend to stretch about one full size. Lined shoes stretch about a half size. Remember: a well-fit comfortable shoe will work better than an ill-fitting tighter shoe.

Amazing beginner shoe

Wore these shoes for about a year of gym climbing. It was my first climbing shoe and think it’s a great beginner shoe. Loved the Velcro and fit for my flat feet. Was able to progress into 5.11’s with these, where I then upgraded.

Lasted less than 3 months before tearing

I bought these shoes as an indoor (mostly) bouldering shoe in May 2019, wore them once or twice a week until i noticed a large tear and the rubber bottom part of the sole coming off of the heel! I really like the fit of the shoe and how secure the velcro is, however the tear in the heel quickly turned into tears on the toe, and not just from wear and tear but from what I believe are weak points in the rubber. Not super well made, but comfortable fit. I will be going back to laces and leather shoes for my next la sportiva shoe!

Not Durable

I bought these shoes about 2 months ago. They fit great, but the sole of one of them is already peeling off. I gym climb with frequency, but not to the degree that there should be this much wear and tear on them.

Love the Closure!

These were my first ever shoes when I began climbing. I've used them for about a year climbing 2 times a week inside both top rope and bouldering. I'm only climbing about 5.9 and V1-V2 but the shoes definitely made my feet feel confident using the smallest holds in that difficulty range. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way the velcro closure gives you a chance to change the angle every time for a comfort fit no matter how swollen or gross my toes were that day,. I've finally worn a hole through the toe on the left foot and thus it's time to retire them and get something in the moderate-aggressive range. I'm really going to miss that style of velcro closure when I upgrade; none of the other La Sportiva models seem to also have the large pad on the side allowing for a custom fit.

Good Beginner Shoe

I ordered a 38.5. (I wear these without socks.) I wear a size 8 in street shoes. I am a beginner climber. I climb 2-4 times a week. I have been using these shoes for about a month so far. I mainly climb indoors, but have used them for outdoor climbing as well. I don't have anything to compare them to other than my gym's rental shoes, but I like them. I was worried they may be too small at first, but after breaking them in (which only took a few climbing sessions,) they ended up working just fine! I haven't tried washing them yet. I'm putting that off for as long as possible. I haven't had issues with fraying or wear and tear yet.

Not durable at all

Ive been wearing these shoes to the gym for about 5 months now and I had to sew the strap on them because if was fraying really bad and going to come apart. The sole is good, but if you want to get good use out of your shoes, I highly recommend finding a shoe with stronger straps than these ones

Awesome First Shoe

I got these about a year ago as my first pair of climbing shoes after only climbing in rented shoes for a couple months. These were the perfect first shoe for me. I climbed in them about 5 days a week for a year and they did absolutely everything I asked of them from both indoor and outdoor. Break in only took a few days. The first day was pretty painful but after that they were fine and are actually quite comfortable. I wear an 8 in street shoes and got a 7.5 in these which worked well for my first shoe. I love how these are washable however because they are synthetic, after about 6 months there was not really anything I could do to get the smell out because I climb barefoot. However this wasn't a huge issue and putting dryer sheets in them when not climbing helped. After a year these have finally started to show wear on the toes and the grip isn't quite what it used to be. I decided to get the Miura next because I need something more aggressive and better for tiny holds. I am going to keep my oxygym's for outdoor stuff and to use while I break in the new shoes. Overall these are a great buy that were an amazing first shoe!
