Your child's dedication to ascending every tree in the neighborhood leads you to believe that someone needs proper training before an accident happens. Your child's safety comes first after all, and while you'd rather have those little feet stay near the ground, you can't stick around all the time to make sure that happens. So send your little tyke to the climbing gym for after-school classes. There are rentals, but the La Sportiva Kids' Gripit Climbing Shoe is a much safer option. It's one of the first child-specific climbing shoe to have a thoughtful design that won't interfere with growing metatarsals, sensory development, and proprioception. The Gripit also features La Sportiva's innovative No-Edge technology that adds surface area and grip; it's important that your child climbs with the best, just in case someone goes pro.

Best kids shoe hands down
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Got these for a five year old. She’s now on her second pair and the four year enherited the first pair. Bought them when sneakers were starting to limit her ability to smear and use small er holds. Other kid shoes were clog-like and awkward especially in small sizes. These are super soft, flexible, and the kids love them. They’ve vastly increased her confidence (nice bonus she also climbs several grades harder). The size adjustment is a little fiddly but works well and you don’t need to adjust very often. If your kid climbs regularly these are a very worthwhile investment. Doesn’t seem like they could be resolved (but maybe?). They’ve held up well to a years worth of climbing (mainly indoors a couple times a week and some outdoor).
Going to buy another pair now.
