Klattermusen Allgron Jacket - Women's
KlattermusenAllgron Jacket - Women's

Allegorical representation of fun.

While it's name might allude to a less than savory love story (not that we'd necessarily associate love with the Island of Odin), you're bound to fall head over heels for the ever-practical yet innovative Klattermusen Women's Allgron Jacket. Designed to be a Jane of all trades and a jacket for all seasons, the Allgron is fashioned with a unique silhouette, recycled materials, and covertly practical features that when combined make it an adventure staple.

Constructed with a stretchy, 100% recycled fabric and fully taped seams, this jacket is built to provide waterproof protection thanks to its weather-resistant, durable-yet-highly breathable Cutan fabric technology. In addition to its recycled roots, the Allgron is PTFE and fluorocarbon free and can be fully recycled upon reaching its end-of-garment-life—however you won't be bidding the jacket adieu any time soon. Equipped to handle years of wear and tear, the Allgron's Duracoat treatment and protective neck fabric ensures maximum longevity and durability while the women-specific fit, drop tail hem, and classic color choices will never go out of style.

Although what makes the Allgron unique in the full-spectrum sense isn't limited to its environmentally-thoughtful fabric constitution or classic design. A two-way, asymmetrical front zipper is fashioned with an external and internal storm flap which when combined with the zippered underarm ventilation, ensures optimal body temperature regulation should temperatures start to heat up. The zippered hand pockets are backed with mesh and also offer additional ventilation. Not to mention, these pockets are harness or lumbar strap compatible, a trait that's awfully convenient for your backcountry endeavors. Additionally, the hood, hem, and cuffs are all fully adjustable with shockcord pulls and ultimately offer a personalized fit while the included Recco device and whistle-compass wristband seal the versatility deal. So whether your adventures take you to the Island of Odin or up and over ridgelines, the Allgron ensures comfortable and stylish protection.

year round favorite

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I often had problems with not being able to access my pockets, or my shell would shift around when I had a full pack on me. The high pockets of the Allgrön allow me to get to what I need even with a full hip belt on, and the fabric has a bit of a stretch to it, so moving around doesn't shift all of my layers. The waterproof membrane also isn't obnoxiously loud.

The attention to detail on this is something quite different, from the easy sleeve adjustments to the high faceguard. With this, my Brage pants, and my goggles, there's no part of me that's exposed to the harsh weather. Even in warmer weather, I still bring this along in the event of sudden rainfall or late evening warmth.

not for me

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: small

I returned this jacket before using it because it's not super functional. It's a super cute design but the pockets are on your chest and the hood isn't helmet compatible. I got it for using as a ski jacket so it just doesn't work for what i ordered it for but would be a good one to wear around town in wet weather.

hands-down favorite

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Medium

I was on the hunt for a good shell for splitboarding when I came across the Allgron; I'd never tried Klattermusen before and purchased on a whim. Oh boy. Seriously killed so many birds with this one. It's waterproof, vented, stretchy, blocks wind well and is incredibly flattering on. Reviewer below calls this a softshell, but I disagree!

I'm usually a Small in jackets, but sized up because it's a Scandinavian brand and I wanted a midlayer to fit underneath... the Medium is perfect. The best part is that because it's not Gore, there's no obnoxious sound and I can get away with wearing it year-round while hiking/backpacking. So stoked on this purchase - one of the best BC finds to-date.

Legendary Klattermusen comes to USA again. Size up cause it's a European brand. Hope BC will bring the FRODE softshell and GERE 2.0 soon. Also don't forget their fantastic backpacks- complicated but fictional. Klattermusen's craftsmanship is not the best, but who care? For Allgron, thinking of a softshell that is totally waterproof!
