Packing made easy.
The Trail Ridge 2 Tent with Footprint is part of Kelty's Trailogic collection for convenient packing whether you're backpacking or camping. With a PU-coated fly, floor, and footprint, the Trail Ridge is acceptable for fall-to-spring weather. The mesh walls and fly vents accommodate summer's warmer weather, while the fly shields your sleeping area from wet weather.
The Trail Ridge also features Kelty's Connect System for a quick-and-simple setup with the compact, folding poles. There are two doors and vestibules, one for each backpacker, and plenty of internal storage pockets for lights, electronics, and easy-to-lose items. Kelty also included a gear loft and the Tent Cube carrying bag for easy-to-pack convenience.

No idea why more people use this tent
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I just purchased this tent after doing some serious digging. I am a baby-backpacker, while I usually camp nearer to the car I am not a huge fan of campgrounds, multitudes of people, or hauling tons of gear which means wild/dispersed camping or boondocking. After readying about the extreme popularity of the REI Half Dome 2 Plus for hybrid campers like myself, I started comparing. This tent has more features, seemingly made of the same quality material, and is only 1.5 less square feet of living space than the Half Dome.. It also has a footprint included that is sold separately with the Half Dome. When I found this tent on sale with a significant price slash, I went for it. I had instant buyer's remorse/doubt but I held strong and I'm glad I did. While I know in the past, Kelty has made some poorer quality tents, they came back with a vengeance with this one. For the price I paid, I'm more than satisfied. It held up to the rain, hail, and wind Wyoming had to offer above 6k ft. It will be seeing the Mountains soon enough. I'll be sure to update this review if something goes wrong.
I must admitted, though, I might have gone with the Half Dome had I not come across that great sale simply based on the shear amount of online review support of it.

The Kelty Trail Ridge 2 Tent is a great tent. The Kelty Trail Ridge 2 Tent is good for beginners or even seasoned backpackers/campers. At a decent price, the Kelty Trail Ridge 2 Tent gives you a lot for the money. It is not the lightest, but the Kelty Trail Ridge 2 Tent comes in a nice little sack. It comes with a cool feature where you can open up half the fly and stargaze. Ventilation is awesome with this tent, condensation is of no concern.
