Chilli Lite Short

With any activity like backpacking, hiking, climbing, or even casual use really, a heavy short that feels like a pair of drenched oversized denim pants with jars of mayonnaise in the pockets is less than ideal. Move easily and wear a stylish and durable short like the Kavu Chilli Lite Short.

Sizing a bit off

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

Had to return these shorts cause of the strange sizing. I'm 6'3 200lbs and the waist was perfect in a size small but the thighs and seat of the short were much too tight... Just not a short model that is gonna work for me.

Belt is bad

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

The size small is a bit loose in the waist which should be a problem except that the belt doesn't work. It loosens after a few strides. It's also sewn in but there are only two belt loops so replacing it will take some customization. Don't buy if you are planning on a functioning belt to keep them up.

Red Oak

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

First of all I love Chilli Lite Shorts! I have around 8 pairs. I just recently bought the red oaks. Unfortunately, the color in person looks nothing like the color online. I sent them back and as usual Backcountry makes it easy and was refunded within days.

Nice but can be better

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I climb and cycle, and 4 things really bother me about these shorts: (1) The front hand pockets are weird and flimsy (2) Not a big fan of the velcro on the rear pockets (3) The material is not as hefty or durable as described (4) Loose threads upon receiving the item and some of the stitching has already come undone If the front pockets were stitched onto the shorts they would feel better and be less flimsy. The way they are now, the front pockets shift around too much, feel a little too flimsy, and can show underneath the hem of the shorts. Just a lil annoying. And to me the velcro on the rear pockets are unnecessary because the pockets are deep and secure enough on their own. Despite all of these things, I still like the shorts. They get the job done.

Too small for athletic legs

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I am a size 32 waist so I purchased the small (32-34?). They fit true to size around my waist, however they were skin tight around my thighs. If you weight lift, be sure to order a size up, unless you like that look.
