I bought these sunnies for my boyfriend, and he is OBSESSED! Kaenon is known for their incredible quality, and these do not disappoint! I love the polarized gold mirror lens. The extra grip on the ends is an added bonus!
I've loved Kaenon glasses for a number of years and have had 2 different pair of Bolsas. Where Kaenon no longer makes this frame, the options for smaller faces in a men's frame are pretty limited. Enter the Burnet. These fit my face really well. The temples are not too long to work with hats. and as always, the lenses provide a crystal clear view. The Gold mirror B12 lens provide great all-around usage; especially suited to outdoor activities. If you have a hard time finding smaller glasses, I'd definitely recommend trying these out.
I wore these everyday for 2 years. Wore them at work, play and everything in between. The lenses clarity and polarization is top notch. Styling is a updated classic look. All of that is great.
I took a couple stars off for craftsmanship and durability. After 6 months or so the film that give the lenses their pop started to wear away at the upper edges, my guess is from my caterpillar eyebrows filling with sweat and rubbing on them. It just got worse and worse until about a good quarter inch of the stuff had rubbed off.
Then one of connecting points on the arm de-glued and slipped out of the connection. I could slip the arm back on for awhile but the glue eventually rubbed completely off.
First of all, pretty bummed that its just a film on the lenses, and secondly, for the price they should have held up longer.
I contacted Kaenon about sending them in for repairs and never got a response back. Ok, Electric it is.
I freakin' love these sunglasses. I have zero complaints, not even something minor to say. The polarized, rose colored lens is great in all conditions. The nose tabs have a small piece of rubber on them that keep them from slipping. They fit my face perfectly. Very stylish shape and has the throw-back tortoise coloring. Absolutely love them.
Kaenon Burnet Sunglasses, oh how I loved you so.
On the boat, ready to surf, dive into the water I go.
Should have known, with a lens so clear, that you were on my face.
Cause, while underwater I saw you sink at an incredible pace.
Each day since, as I'm about, with the sun blinding the sky,
I'm reminded of your mighty shield that once polarized my eyes.
I dream of the day, upon each day of when I will wear you again,
I just cant imagine spending another freaking fortune again.
_THE END_
These glasses are just too cool. Pretty sure anyone would look awesome in them. I'm extremely picky about eye protection and Kaenon's are my new obsession. I tend to take glasses everywhere; into the water, running, sleeping... These ones fit great and have AMAZING clarity. It's like I'm not even wearing sunglasses, just my eyes used their own dimmer. AWESOME!
I've had a lot of sunglasses. Most have been polarized. These are hands down the most comfortable, best fitting sunglasses I've ever had. Rubberized nose piece adds comfort and grip and the frames stay put on your face extremely well. The lens is unmatched for clarity and weight. Hinges are well built and frames seem very durable. No one wants to pay $240 for sunglasses that are going to fall off doing anything active...especially something like deep water fishing and have them slip off your face into the water. These can be worn running, hiking, biking and even kayaking or rafting (although I'd get some chums!). If you have the cash, and are good at keeping track of your sunglasses, pull the trigger.... you wont regret it. * MADE IN ITALY
Kaenon sunglasses are the way to go. I bought my first pair 4 years ago and haven't even thought about using anything else. the best polarized sunglasses you can get, that look good and feel good.. awesome for sports too. the newer burnets have a snugger fit so they don't feel like there going to fall off. get a pair! you won't regret it
The Burnet is my first pair of sunnies from Kaenon (pronounced "kay-nun" - just throwing that out there), and I'm now confident it won't be my last. It's not kool-aid; the SR-91 lens technology that Kaenon has patented is the real deal. The downside with many polarized lenses is that the polarization filter often adversely impacts the clarity of the lens itself, but that's the magic of SR-91 -- it delivers maximum glare reduction while still preserving its near-perfect clarity. Kaenon also adds a comprehensive series of scratch/impact and moisture-resistant coatings to the lenses, which have a nice mirrored finish to them - even the lighter Copper series of lenses. Now, as for the Burnet frame itself (I got the Special Sauce colorway), it's masterfully constructed in Italy using a very high quality and lightweight TR-90 plastic. I would have almost preferred that Kaenon use acetate, as it would allow for a little more precise frame adjustment, at only a slight weight penalty. I only say this, because the Burnet is definitely a smaller frame best suited for medium-sized faces. If you need a little more coverage but love this subtle retro style, check out the Burny. I'm willing to forgive the minor sizing gripes though, as the Burnet really is an impressive and timeless sunny, and one I fully expect to wear when out for long hours out on the road or water.
* Special Sauce, Black/Tortoise, and the Tortoise colorways are quite a bit darker than pictured - only under direct sunlight do the colors really come alive
* Kaenon has discontinued the pictured silver hard case, and is now shipping its sunglasses with a zippered black and orange soft case, along with the included microfiber storage bag
These are sick. Havana isn't as bright as the picture shows which I like more.
Besides being the most comfortable glasses I've ever worn... They are sturdy as rock. Such solid construction... Exemplified by my girlfriend jumping on me... when they were in my pocket (not in the case). She landed directly on them and because these glasses are my babies... I threw her off me, checked on them and they were all good. Now I have to explain to said girlfriend why I care more about my glasses than her.
I wear these daily and love them. The black/tortoise is darker looking that it is in the photo above, definitely not as bright looking. I've taken these hiking, stand up paddling, through two summers at the beach, running, etc. and they still look brand new. No scratches, no delaminating of the lenses, the frames are still in the exact same shape as when I first got them (no warping at all) and I leave them in my hot car all the time. Couldn't recommend a better sunglass. Seriously everyone that I let try them on wants a pair.
