Built for the ascent and descent.

Designed to be worn on the skintrack and the descent, the Julbo Airflux Goggles maximize airflow to offer clear vision. Featuring Julbo's SuperFlow system, these goggles allow you to edge the lens away from the frame to reduce heat buildup and fogging as you climb, and it can be pressed back into the frame to reduce airflow once you're ready to ski. This technology means these goggles can be worn on both the up and down, so you won't have to switch between sunglasses and goggles. Fitted with Julbo Spectron polarized lenses, these goggles are designed for extremely luminous environments and reduce glare for clearer vision. The spherical shape not only expands peripheral vision, but it reduces glare and distortion, giving you a clear and true field of vision.

Not polarized lenses

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

These goggles are listed as having polarized lenses, which they do not. At least within the standard convention of how polarizing lenses are defined, meaning the lenses have a polarization dependent absorption. This can be easily checked by rotating a pair of polarized sunglasses, or any other linear polarizing optic, in front of your field of view while wearing these goggles. If there is a clear maximum and minimum for light transmitted through both optics as the angle between them is rotated the polarizing effect will be obvious. For these goggles there is no effect what so ever.

Also, the superflow system seems cheap as the lens doesn't seat into the frame well.

Julbo Airflux Goggles

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Truly innovative goggles allow you to pop the lens out on the fly for maximum ventilation. If you don't want to stow the goggles for a quick boot pack or heart pumping side step (alta skiers) this is the perfect goggle pop out the lens and your goggles stay fog free
