When you want padding, but not at the sacrifice of weight, reach for the Ion Path Glove. Low-profile gel padding at the heel of your hand offers some cushion against rough terrain, and lightweight mesh that keeps your hand breathing on warm days. The Path glove utilized Ion's Nerve Nugget padding in the palm, with just enough gel-padding to soak up vibrations from abusive trails, but not so much that it gets in the way, so you can stay comfortably locked on the bars for longer. The palm also features silicone print that keeps you from slipping if weather breaks out while you're on the ride. The thumb is hit with a spot of microfiber that Ion's designers like to call the Nose Charmer for wiping away sweat and drips from a runny nose, and the gloves can be tossed into the wash with no stress if they get messy.

Breathable gloves with light padding
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
These gloves have light padding which does a good job of absorbing some shock without "numbing" the trail features. Having padding on the lower palm and omitting pads right under the fingers is nice. The pads don't get bunched up where your fingers wrap around the bars which is a problem I've seen with other padded gloves.
They are exceptionally breathable too, great summer gloves. The material at the back of the hand and the meshy material between the fingers help keep the air flowing. I really like the slits on the back that articulate which your knuckles as you grip the bars, no pressure on top of your knuckles and makes these gloves really comfortable. There is a sweat/goggle wipe on the thumb and they work with the phone touch screens. Overall a well thought out glove.
They have held up pretty well after 10 or so rides. I actually took a pretty good spill while wearing these gloves and they didn't get torn up. I got the larges and they fit pretty true to size, maybe just a bit snug. If you are between sizes size up.
