Hestra My First Mitten - Toddlers'

Get on the Hestra train.

While your little ripper's activities are sort of limited to causing a ruckus and falling asleep while skiing with Mom, the Hestra Toddlers' My First Hestra Mitten will inevitably set your kids' standards high from the get go. More importantly, though, these mitts have a wind and waterproof shell with leather overlays that not only offer a classic look, but ensure unwavering protection—the kind you're used to expecting from Hestra. Additionally, this mitten features PrimaLoft synthetic insulation that ensures low-profile, yet toasty warm, even when wet. And the hook-and-loop closure paired with snow-lock prevents sneaky slush and cold from worming its way into your wee one's hands.

  • A classically-styled mitten for skiing or sledding
  • Windproof and waterproof shell offers ample protection
  • PrimaLoft synthetic insulation assures warmth
  • Polyester lining wicks away moisture
  • Hook-and-loop closure seals snow out

Decent Toddler Mitten

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: 1.0

I purchased the Hestra My First Mitten for my 2 1/4 year old and it has worked decently so far. The warmth is definitely there with some decent waterproofing. The sizing was interesting however as the closure was pretty close but the glove itself was a bit on the large side which made things a bit cumbersome on the taking off/putting on perspective. There might be some better sized options out there for skinnier hands/arms but when it comes to what counts they do work well.

Best toddler mitten- hands down

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I recently bought these for my 23 month old daughter. These fit well, her thumb finds the right spot fairly easily. They are super waterproof, and her hands have stayed warm so far. She uses them to ski, play in the snow, and on hikes with us.

For My Niece

    I bought these in Ivory/Off White as a gift for my 2 year old niece and she loves them. They're of Hestra quality and I thought they were reasonably priced.

    I am looking to order gloves for my sons....

    I am looking to order gloves for my sons. The length of their hands from wrist break to fingertips are 4 and 4.5 inches. What sizes do I need

    Most likely they will both be a size 3. However the best way to be sure is to print out the size chart that is in the link below and have them hold their hands up to the pattern and that will give you the exact size.

    My kid loves these

      Both my husband and I only wear Hestra's so when the cheap mittens went missing, this was our go to. Actually, I bought another cheap pair and my son cried all the way down the mountain cause his hands were cold. Got these and he not only is warm, he feels super cool cause he has the same mitten's as mom and dad. These are easy to put on, but stay on. They are super water resistant and stay warm in a variety of weather conditions. Love these, worth every single penny.

      do these have zipper access

      do these have zipper access

      They do not. They just have the wrist closure.

      good mittens for toddlers

        The sinch device around the wrists is so helpful with keeping these on the little ones. They are very warm.

        The sizing chart doesn't have any measurements. What is considered a toddler size 1 and a toddler size 2. My little one is wearing 3T right now.

        Hey there, the sizing chart shown here has the correct conversion (toddle size/Hestra Glove sizing):
        1T=1
        2T=2
        3T/Youth XS=3

        There is a sizing chart just under the "select options" drop down menu. He probably needs a two or a three.
