The inflatable yoga studio.

Meant to supplement the practice of yogis, artists, and fitness aficionados, the Hala Asana Stand-Up Paddleboard is a yoga-inspired inflatable that has cross-functionality in low-class whitewater and longer tours. And since it's designed to be stable enough for aquatic downward dogs, handstands, and your eight-angle pose, the Asana will feel solid underfoot for a tour around String Lake or even as a novelty SUP on some of the long, calm stretches of your upcoming 24-day Grand Canyon trip. Plus, it's built with Hala's Core Construction, which is meant to take a serious beating, so you needn't worry about dragging it across the beach, rigging it on the pavement, or scraping a rock while dropping some (potentially over-ambitious) class II-III whitewater.

  • An inflatable SUP stable enough for on-water yoga practice
  • Double PVC Core Construction takes a beating
  • Net rigging in front for quick stashing
  • Seven metal D-ring rigging points
  • Comes with paddle, pump, repair kit, e-car pump, and rolling travel case

Seriously inflatable fun!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have been wanting to get a paddleboard for a while, but put it off because the bulkiness of storing the solid ones. Finally I got to play on one of these with Sam, Racquel and Tom of YogaSlackers on an alpine lake and it was ridiculously fun. Inflates relatively easy, super stable, and pretty quick especially if you have the combination paddle (Butter knife). I got mine and have been taking it out in the marina and a little bit of open ocean. Been doing some partner acrobatics on it with friends, paddling around at sunset, and even floated fine with two other people and myself. I’m looking forward to doing some paddle and camping among other things. I will have to update the review once I try surfing some waves on it.

Seriously inflatable fun!

Great for Yoga, Acro and Playtime

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

We got the Hala Asana to practice yoga and acroyoga at the pool during our retreats in Thailand. After two yeras being used by friends, family, and random people at a friend's gym, we are happy to report that this board - like all the other Hala boards we have - is strong and very durable.

The board itself, is super stable and soft, which is an excellent feature for these practices. The flat design allow my partner and I to move around the board without encountering any changes in the surface's shape or height.

While we use this board mainly on the pool, we have taken it on open waters, ocean waves and rivers. It is a fun one! It handles very well while paddling.

Flat Water Bliss

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

A great board for paddlers of all levels even if they are not specifically looking for a board to do yoga on. The deck material has excellent grip and is soft on the knees and back for yoga / AcroYoga poses or if you are just feeling like paddling while lying on your back and calling it yoga. The included adjustable paddle is great for traveling and packs up easily to fit in the wheelie bag or in a small car trunk.

Hala BACK!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Big fan of this board (and everything Hala). Light enough for an easy carry, but super stable on the water for standing on your feet, or your head! The pad is comfy with good grip--for distance, yoga, and even pups in tow! The paddle it comes with is exceptional (light, and adjustable), and the new rolling case for it is key for travel. Can't really think of anything I'd change about this board. HALA!

Super light and great to balance on

The Hala Asana is awesome for flat water paddling and yoga or AcroYoga (partner yoga). It is super wide and stable and the mat on the top of the board has excellent grip. Best of all it’s an unbelievably light board for its size making it almost as easy as your yoga mat to pack up and transport to your next SUP yoga body of water destination.

Also a great feature is that it comes with an adjustable paddle that also packs up easily and adjusts if you are teaching other students/friends of different heights.

Perfect Inflatable

The shape and size of the Hala Asana at 10.6 x 34” x 6” is the quintessential beginner platform. Since I began paddling I have always had a board in my quiver this size. The Asana has served as my teaching board, my family and friend board, and my lazy day board. You know the days when you just want to be out on the river and have a nice private island? This board is perfect for that! Also, this board was an excellent choice last season for a down river run on the Shenandoah River. My husband and I did a 12-mile trip with our dogs, and the Asana performed amazingly. It glided well in flat water, and proved to be stable and agile in the whitewater. Here are some of my other favorite features:

o Handles on both ends of the board for easier carrying and handling.

o D-rings on the front and the back for securing gear. I especially like tying gear down on the tail when paddling with dogs.

o Neoprene handle cover for a more comfortable grip.

o Generously sized deck pad for four paws, or in my case eight!

o A D-ring on the bottom of the nose for anchoring the board. You know in case you need that private island!

o It comes with a great heavy duty carrying bag that’s big enough to store your board, PFD, canine PFD, and all the rest of your paddling gear.

Great board for more than yoga!

Being a sup yoga teacher, it is awesome to have a board that is stable, but one that can do more than just hang out and be still. I have taken this board to Hawaii, and down the Colorado river, and it is awesome. A great stable, all around board, but when it comes to teaching a class, nothing beats this guy. I highly recommend.
