Polly want a cracker.

Your mother always said that imitation was the highest form of flattery, so it's no surprise that when synthetics mimic down feathers, they often ace the test of durability, versatility, and warmth. So whether you're bike-packing from Pennsylvania to Illinois or you're through-hiking the Appalachian Trail from Connecticut to central Vermont, the Haglöfs Men's Essens Mimic Insulated Jacket provides paramount protection, low-profile warmth, and ultimately prevails in otherwise testy situations.

QuadFusion Mimic insulation offers the lightweight warmth and compressibility for which down is known, but with a synthetic material that retains warmth even when wet (unlike down). The lightweight and durable Pertex Microlight exterior shields you from brisk winds and is treated with a fluorocarbon-free DWR coating to shed light rain and snow. Stretch inserts and an articulated fit permit ample mobility, comfort, and body temperature regulation throughout the course of your adventure.

  • Pertex Microlight fabric
  • DWR water-resistant treatment
  • QuadFusion Mimic insulation

My second purchase

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: XL

I liked this jacket so much I bought a second one. Light, very warm, deep outside pockets. My "woobie" jacket.

"Impressed with the warmth..."

  • Size Bought: XL

This is what a Customer said about the jacket:
"Haglofs jacket was "true to size" for the most part. I'm 6', 202 lbs 38 pant size, chest is 44.5". Jacket was comfy fit with t-shirt and cotton shirt underneath, when I added a sweater it was getting tight to zip up but not uncomfortable. Sleeve length was perfect. I have long (34") sleeves and the jacket looked like it could take up to 36" without wrist sticking out. Very impressed with the warmth considering how light and thin it is. I was outside in 20-25°F weather with 15-20mph winds for 10-20 minutes and stayed warm. (polartec 100 baselayer only)”

Great jacket - very warm

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

A great jacket. When I first got it I was afraid it was a little too puffy to wear as a base-layer. Just used it under a shell for 3 days of heli-skiing in BC. Temps were below 0 F and it was great. Compressed into a small backpack when things warmed up. Stylish around town as well.

Best Jacket Ever!
