Save Corbet's for the powderiest conditions.
Drop the cornice into Corbet's Couloir and the Haglöfs Men's Chute III Pant should keep you dry in case you blow the powdery landing. Gore-Tex gives this pant reliable waterproof protection that's breathable enough for bootpacking back to the top for another shot. Fully taped seams enhance waterproofing by preventing a single snowflake from seeping through, so feel free to fall as many times as you want; just leave some snow for others.
Haglöfs fixed the Chute III with slanted ventilation zippers that enhance airflow when you're working up a sweat. The boot gaiters keep snow out of your boots when you're hiking, and there are waist adjustments if you choose to remove the suspenders. Haglöfs reinforced the lower hem with durable, stretchy Schoeller Keprotec fabric.

Any input on whether these would be alright for moderate mountaineering (no technical climbing) when not skiing?
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: large
Skiing in these pants is very comfortable. They are not as baggy as snowboard pants but loose in the thighs and hips to not bind you up. I bought the large and they fit great, enough room for my under armour and an arcteryx stryka hoodie to be tucked in. Overall very pleased with these pants.
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit: Runs large

Theses really are a solid pant. By Chute pant, I think they really meant, you could bounce off the walls skiing threw a chute and come out the other side without a scratch on these pants! My only gripe is the inseam, which is long, making these pants pretty baggy on me. However I'm 5'7, so finding pants that don't swallow me is difficult. Overall a solid resort pant.
why only xl? getting more sizes? per sizing specs i'd need an xxl [42" waist] nice to see some scandi-variety in your product line-up.
