Backcountry weekends were never so easy.

Backpacking is a balancing act, literally and figuratively. Ideally, your pack won't make you tip over in tricky terrain, and it should also combine capacity, comfort, and killer features to help you stay organized and efficient on the trail. The original Nimbus Trace Access 70 Back from Granite Gear performed this balancing act well enough that it won Outside Magazine's 2014 Gear of the Year award, and the new Nimbus Trace Access 60 features the exact same design in a smaller, more weekend-oriented pack.

The foundation of the Nimbus is the TopoFlex laminated maple-core framesheet, which sits underneath the Advection back panel to help distribute weight comfortably and support your load. It mirrors the shape of your back and works with the pre-curved hip belt to take weight off your shoulders and spread it onto your hips for a more comfortable carry. The Advenction back panel itself is designed to increase airflow and heat dissipation while reducing weight, and the pivoting, fully adjustable shoulder straps and hip belt provide comfortable carrying options for users of all sizes.

Along with the carry system, the feature set of the Nimbus helps set it apart from the field. Most noticeably, the zippered front panel provides easy access to the deepest recesses of the pack and helps you stay organized, while the traditional top closure gives you another access point and the floating lid cinches down to secure smaller loads. The lid is also removable and functional as a lumbar pack for shorter trips from base camp. A ridiculous number of compression straps at the top, sides, front, and even inside the Nimbus lock down any load, and four large stretchy side pockets easily  hold water bottles, layers, and snacks. An additional cavernous front stretch pocket  is big enough to hold your rain fly, so it can dry out when you're on the trail. Granite Gear also included tool loops and a zippered hydration sleeve, so you can secure trekking poles and stay hydrated, respectively.
