Very comfortable. Great for hot weather
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: Runs small
- Size Bought: Large
I started to use bis a few years to ride my muy mountain bike, and don't want to go back to liner sorts. However, in the Texas summer, wearing a bib and a baggy short on top can be a bit hot. When it is really hot, I wear a single Fox bib liner that is designed to be worn with or without a short.
I discovered this Gore C7 2 ni 1 and ordered it first in size Medium; I am 172lbs, 5'11", but it was too tight at the waist (33"). I exchanged for a Large and absolutely love it. this is a great concept, and the execution is excellent. It fits so well, so barely feel you are wearing it. The materials for both the liner and the short are very thin and airy, and the pad is also very comfortable. Overall, I feel that it keeps me significantly drier, even in under the pad, than anything else I have worn so far.
The suspenders are not very tight and may not keep the shorts and liner as high as you would want; it is actually very comfortable and once on the bike it is perfect. and never hooks up on the saddle. The shorts are not too long, and sometimes the liner stick out 1/2 an inch out of the short when riding, but this is not an issue.
Well worth the money. Amazon had a great price on it. As I ride pretty frequently, I may buy a second one this summer, and this will probably become my favorite bib for summer rides.
Only negatives:
- there is no pocket except for a small one in the back, but it is a bi thigh and not easy to access when the bib is on.
- there are diagonal stitches on the back of the thighs; I don't feel them at all when on the bike or standing but you feel them when seating in a car seat.
