love them!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: L

These are super light-weight stretchy fabric (not compression) which I see as a plus. They magically stay put, but at the same time don't dig in at the waist and thighs. I particularly like that the front of the waist is even less compressive compared to the back. I'm not a serious racer, but like to get out for 30-40 mile rides on my road bike. These have been great to ride in. Happy to find something that is not all black, but also not super expensive.

Can not take these seriously

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: Small

I ride endurance road, gravel and mountain and i do a lot of bicycle touring as well.
I purchased 8 pairs of shorts from Backcountry and plan to review all of them. These were my least favorite of everything I tried on. The material for the shorts is too thin and too stretchy and there is zero compression. These are see-through and do not past the squat test. Because the material is so thin and non-compressive, the chamois moved around a lot when walking around in them. To me these felt like a cheap pair of lycra workout tights with a sewn in chamois. Gore is a good brand, but I can not take these cycling shorts seriously. They might work for some people but not me. I did like the color of the chamois (neon blue).

Nice lightweight option

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Small

Good option for the price - very leightweight, good thick chamois padding, comfortable. I’ve used these on rides of 20 miles and under. I’m 5’6” 125 lb and found the small fits me well. My only wish is that the side pocket we’re bigger. It’s mesh and stretchy, so my iPhone 11 Pro does stay in when I jam it in there, but not sure how it will hold up over time given my phone is really too big for the pocket.
