Power through the wind.
When the weather is brisk but the yetis haven't quite come out of hibernation, you'll want a cycling jacket that keeps the wind at bay without overheating your core. The Gore Bike Wear Women's Power AS Jacket is a must have for your shoulder season arsenal.
The Power AS Jacket was constructed from Windstopper, which is designed specifically to shield you from wind. While it's not an insulating membrane, by minimizing cold air from flowing over your skin, warm body heat is kept close to your core. This keeps you from getting chilled. The jacket features stretch panels for optimal freedom of movement, and it's lightweight enough to take off and slip into your jersey pocket if the wind dies down and the sun starts to shine.
A full-length zipper is housed in a zipper port, and a semi-lock slider prevents it from slipping down while you ride. A stow pocket holds your riding essentials, and, for low light visibility, reflective prints and piping have been added to the back and sleeves.
The Gore Bike Wear Power AS Jacket - Women's is available in sizes X-Small through XX-Large and in three colors: Waterfall Blue, Rich Red, and Black.
- Q & A
Good quality, small fit.
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit: Runs small
- Size Bought: XL
I ordered this jacket for the upcoming fall weather for days when its a bit windy. Normally I don't think Gore's sizing is too off; I wear a large and usually order a large. However, I saw from other reviews that this jacket ran small, so I decided to size up to an XL. Am I glad I did, because this baby without a doubt runs small! Gore considers this jacket to fall into their "Semi-Fitted" category, but I feel it would be better suited for the "Fitted" category. Despite the side stretch panels, I don't believe I'll be able to layer much under this at all. I will say, it is a very stylish jacket and is made in typical quality Gore fashion. I love how the inside of collar is brushed with a soft material to make it more comfortable, and the rainbow elastic is a cute touch to the sleeves and hem (on of my guilty pleasures of Gore's Power line). Overall, I'm happy I purchased this jacket as I believe it'll get a lot of use in the fall. It also didn't hurt I got it for a great price. However, I would advise those who are on the fence about sizing to order a few sizes, try them on, see what works for you, then send the rest back.
