Essential protection for pushing the envelope.
Freshly developed for this season, the Giro Zone MIPS Helmet gives freeride fanatics and off-piste adventurers streamlined protection for charging alpine faces and weaving lines through the forest. Hybrid construction mates a durable Hard Shell upper to an In-Mold lower for the best of style and lightweight protection on the mountain. The Form Fit 2 system delivers a micro-adjustable fit for comfort and security when you're ripping at high speeds.
The Multi-Directional Impact Protection System, or MIPS, attaches a low-friction, elastomeric liner to the impact-absorbing EPS foam. This technology allows the foam liner to independently rotate around your noggin in the event of an angled impact, subsequently reducing the rotational forces that lead to serious head trauma.
The innovation doesn't stop there. Giro didn't pull any stops when it came to loading the Zone MIPS with their very best technologies. Super Cool vents rapidly disperse excess heat on sunny spring days, with Giro's Thermostat Control button for adjustable comfort. The XT2 liner combats funky odor build-up with its antimicrobial properties. The ear pads are compatible with audio by Outdoor Tech for hassle-free jamming on the mountain. And for skiers and riders filming big-mountain exploits, the POV mount seamlessly attaches to your favorite action sports camera.

- Q & A
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
I bought this as a gift for my brother, and here's what he had to say, "The biggest selling point for me on this helmet is the "In Form Fit 2 system" which is reminiscent of an adjustable hardhat. Very easy to tighten up even with gloves on. I like the way the buckle works also, very easy to take off but still secure."

- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I've always been a believer of helmets on the bike; but only recently have I decided that I need one on skis as well ... so far I'm pretty stoked with this helmet. Not too heavy, warm but vents well, and not terrible on the style scale.
