GiroTrans E70 Shoe - Men's

Giro my goodness!

Collaboration is the spice of life, or something, so when Giro teamed up with Easton to make the Trans E70 Shoe, your footwear possibilities got a little more flavorful. Easton's renowned for its carbon-fiber expertise, which it brought to bear on the EC70 sole, a carbon-composite offering that's at once lightweight, powerful, and comfortable. It'll help you put plenty of power into the pedals without killing your feet, and is even decked out with a replaceable walking pad, so your shoes don't meet an unnecessarily early end.

The upper's killer, too. It's made with Evofiber, a microfiber polyester that was designed by Japanese wizards Teijin to have a top-shelf durability-to-weight ratio, and has perforations that help your feet stay cool and dry on the road. The toe is reinforced, the design is ergonomic, and the hook-and-loop straps team up with the ratcheting instep closure to lock your foot down snugly and comfortably. To finish things off, Giro included its SuperNatural Fit Kit, which lets you customize the footbed to your exact specs, and treated the lining with Aegis, an antimicrobial agent that prevents funk from taking over your shoes.

Great shoes - run small though

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 46

These are very stiff and comfortable. The level of quality is impressive. I would recommend going a half size to a full size higher. I am a dead on 11.5 most of the time, which equated to a 45.5 according to the chart. However, that was way too small, so I returned them and got a 46. Perfect.

Great fit and Stiffness for Price Point

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I bought these as a gift for my dad who was replacing an old set of Sidi shoes. He has been putting in some decent miles with no issues so far. Fit great out of the box, no numbness, no hot spots.

Great Intro Shoe

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This is my first pair of road shoes and I've been really pleased with them. They seem pretty stiff, solidly made, and have a nice sleek design.
The fit is true to size and the ratchet buckle works well, while being low profile. They're not the must comfortable shoes I've ever worn, but bike shoes tend not to be known for plushness, so that's to be expected.
Cleat installation was easy and everything seems to work great with my Look Keo pedals. Overall I'm extremely happy with them.
