Style and safety

The stylish low-profile design of Giro’s Sutton MIPS Helmet is perfect for urban cyclists and dirt jumpers who want to look on-point, but also demand high-tech protection. The Sutton features Giro’s Multi-directional Impact Protection System (MIPS), which gives you superior protection by reducing rotational forces when the helmet gets hit at an angle. This makes the Sutton MIPS far safer than most helmets that only protect against direct impact. The Sutton is built with a polystyrene liner and uses an in-molded polycarbonate shell for added strength and weight savings. The Sutton has eight vents to keep your head cool, and is lighter than most ABS-shelled helmets of this style. The integrated light clip at the back allows you to attach your light to the helmet for added visibility, and a reinforced vent port lets you lock the helmet to your bike. Giro also includes a removable soft visor, and has designed the Sutton to used with Giro’s line of goggles.

Great Commuter Helmet

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I was looking for a helmet to wear around town instead of using my mountain bike helmet. This one fits the ticket and more. Super comfortable, ventilation works great, and the highlighter yellow color I have can't be missed in traffic. Built in visor, lightweight design, and MIPS are awesome additions as well.

so light and so so so very bright . . .

especially at dawn and dusk, which is when you really want that precious dome of yours to shine. even in the brightest sunshine, the matte highlight yellow shouts, "here I come!"

apart from the color, I have never had a helmet fit me better, and it is surprisingly light for how wholly protective it feels atop my own most precious cargo.

Thanks for the review Jason!

My dome measures in right at 23.25 inches. Any recommendation for medium vs large size?
