You've finally signed up for the high Sierra double century that's been on your bucket list for the past few years, and realize your super aero, skin tight race kit just isn't the right option for a full day of elevation changes and snack stops at altitude. Luckily, the search for the perfect jersey that blends race-worthy fabrics with a fit that's a bit more forgiving ends with Giordana's Tenax Pro Men's Jersey.
Fashioned with a relaxed silhouette, this jersey has just enough tailoring to avoid excess flapping fabric while leaving some room to breathe for unrestricted comfort. - Q & A
Never Bring A Knife To A Gun Fight
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit: Runs small
For the most part I'm a fairly conservative consumer preferring simple, clean designs in a neutral color palette: white, grey or black. Mostly black. So I've got a good friend back in Texas telling me about his jersey collection over the years. He mentions one of his favorites is a high vis yellow "Don't Tread on Me" jersey. And with that the proverbial gauntlet had been thrown down. So that prompts me to start looking for a jersey that will hold its own against his Don't Tread On Me attitude and I stumbled across the Giordana Tenax Pro Jersey. Perfect. Never bring a knife to a gun fight . . . . . bring a Samurai. This will likely be my most brazen jersey reserved for special club and event rides with my buddy. Knowing that Giordana jerseys run on the small side I determined the perfect fit by upping my size and ordering both a XXL and 3XL. The 3XL was more of a relaxed fit on my torso, but too relaxed in the arms (loose) and too long of sleeves (past the Antecubital Space where the arms bend in the riding position). I returned the 3XL but kept the XXL which is a snug but otherwise proper fit. I predict it will likely rack up a fair amount of mileage once Spring and Summer roll around. Back in the early 80's and 90's my favorite vintage jerseys were Giordanas and almost three decades later Giordana jerseys are still my favorite. Great quality & technology as well as being an incredible value. As a side note, for those of you who have always wanted a tattoo but you have an aversion to needles and pain; here ya' go.
