Rugged all-terrain adventurer.

When space is limited and you need a boot that will take you from trail to town, pack the Forsake Men's Tail Hiking Boot. With a leather, suede, and textile upper, this boot offers both urban appeal and rugged all-terrain performance. The waterproof yet breathable HydroGuard membrane keeps your feet dry whether you're hiking through drizzly conditions or dry heat. A gusseted tongue prevents water and debris from entering your boots through the lace eyelets or the space between the tongue and the upper for a more comfortable fit. The EVA midsole and an open-cell PU footbed provide long-lasting cushioning and support, while the Peak-to-Pavement outsole offers grip on loose terrain and traction and stability on hard surfaces.

Can't take 'em off!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Too comfortable and very functional if you live somewhere where winter covers the sidewalk in snow and ice.

Great Boots

I originally bought these in blue but was not feeling the colors and returned them. The new Cypress caught my eye, however, and they've become go-tos this winter. The simple leather design is functional and looks great. The gusseted tongue is also a nice touch.

    Steezy...are we still saying that?

    • Fit: Runs large

I have to admit, I've been holding off on writing this review because I didn't want to dirty these boots up had I seen another person wearing them on the streets (if you catch my drift). But I have to give credit wear credit is due. I love these boots. They are comfy as hell, light, and feel really stable underfoot.
I originally ordered a size 11 based off reviews but they were just too long on the toe. I wear a 10.5 vans. So, I talked with my gearhead, and decided on a 10. These shoes are snug. Because of the gusseted tongue it's just not a lot of room for your foot. They pinched and were really cramped . But I had to make these work because I love the look of them. I dropped in some smartfeet insoles from older boots and that fixed everything. I can wear a mid-weight sock and its perfect. I think my foot just had to come down a bit in the boot.
Really well made. They have kept my feet dry and toasty splashing through puddles on the way to work or walking in the woods with dog. I'm excited for my next pair from these guys!

    Love Em!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

This is my second pair of Forsakes now, and I absolutely love them! Right out of the box, they are very comfy! Super warm during the colder days, and will keep you dry. I feel like they fit pretty true to size, I usually wear a size 9 and the 9's fit me very well!

    Second pair of Forsake's

And they wont be the last. I get a lot of compliments and questions about these shoes. Super comfy and work great all around.

    Dig em!

I picked these up for a casual boot. Sneaker like comfort, and they look really good. More shoe-like and not very clunky at all. I found them to fit true to size. I have a fairly narrow foot- and found an 11 fit perfect just like 99% of my other shoes.

      Love my Forsakes

I love these boots! They did fit a little smaller at first and based on some reviews, sized up a half size. Toes felt a bit tight at first, but that loosened just a tad once broken in. The best part about these boots is their transition between parking lot and getting in and out of ski boots, apres, and then out to dinner. Not so bulky they look ridiculous if wearing just casually, but still all the basic tech features I would want in a basic snow boot.

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: 13

I am normally a size 13 these were too small. Definitely size up! Major bummer...these are some really sweet looking boots.

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

This is an easy go to boot for any occasion, I used it all winter for those days where the weatherman has no clue what is going to happen. They are also stylish enough to go with just about any outfit, wore them to work quite a bit and they pair well with a button up and some khakis.
They are really light, so you don't feel like your lugging around cinder blocks with each step.
To echo some below reviews the to box is on the narrower side, but I thought they boot broke in nicely. I don't have a wide foot but it's definitely not narrow either. I just loosened the laces for a few weeks and once the boot was broke in I was good to go. It does fit true to size, I have a 12 and that's the same size show I wear in Adidas/Nike etc..

      Nice boot, not breathable.

I got this boot not too long ago, and I love it. Disclaimer, this boot does have a narrow toe box. Works out for me because I have narrow feet, but for wider feet, this boot is probably a no-go. Water-proof and tough but doesn't breath as well as some other hiking boots I have, which is my only complaint. Other than that, they are super comfy and I love how they look.

Yep toe box is small. I had to size up and use a stretcher. Money after that.

      Didn't Fit Properly

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: 11.5

I wanted to like these because they look great. However, I had to return them because of the fit. The toe box is slightly narrow, leading to some cramped toes. The major problem for me, though, is the design of the tongue gusset (the area where the tongue attaches to the inside of the boot). When the boots are on tight enough that my feet don't move around in them, the gusset digs into the side of my foot, no matter how much I tried to position the tongue and adjust the lacing over my ankle. I'm not a shoe designer, but it seems like the gusset should be higher, above the flex point for the ankle, not directly on the flex point. In any case, they are nice boots to look at, but there's something off in the way they're designed.

Oh, and the sizing is off. These boots run a half size too small.

In the end, I got some Clyde boots from Forsake. They are super comfortable -- for my foot, at least.
