Keep the day alive.
Stylish enough to take to the streets and functional enough to tear up the whole mountain, Flylow's Dexter jacket is the midlayer you've been waiting for. The Dexter strikes a balance between warmth and breathability, keeping you toasty on long chair rides without suffocating you on the bootpack.
PrimaLoft Eco insulation is made from recycled materials and retains warmth even when wet. The DWR-treated ripstop face fabric makes the Dexter durable enough to rock on its own, and articulated shoulders and sleeves assure full range of motion whether you're maneuvering up a tricky bootpack or dancing on a table at the Mangy Moose.
- Insulating midlayer for chilly winter days on and off the hill
- PrimaLoft Eco Insulation is warm and breathable
- Articulated shoulders and sleeves for ample mobility
- Short collar for easy layering
- Underarm zips for quick ventilation
- Q & A
Nice looking but not very warm
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: M
This coat is nice looking and fits true to size. The problem with it is that it is very light for an insulated coat. This may be more of a Backcountry flaw in their description of Flylow brand coats but this was the second one we ordered (the first turned out to be a spring shell) looking for a winter weight coat and there is virtually no way to tell the weight or recommended use from the web description. This one mentions “middle layer” which is a very vague term that is offset by other descriptors like “all Mountain” and “Primaloft Insulation” that lead you to think it might be a cold weather product. We are going to keep this one because it is good looking and frankly just don’t have the energy to send another one back. It would probably help this fledgling brand a lot with their online orders to get more precise descriptions instead of the marketing hyperbole that they use.
