Hiangle Climbing Shoe

You could spend the rest of your life at overhung crags ticking projects off with a lot of help from the Five Ten Men's Hiangle Climbing Shoe. The Hiangle might be the comfiest shoe in Five Ten's aggressive lineup and is designed to keep your foot comfy as you hang-dog, suss out beta, and go for redpoints. This shoe is also the stiffest option thanks to its thick Stealth C4 rubber sole that assures long-lasting traction for gripping anything from plastic jugs to limestone edges.

  • Five Ten's most comfortable downturned climbing shoe for sport
  • Aggressive profile suitable for all-day climbing on overhangs
  • Thickest Stealth C4 rubber sole for long-lasting stiffness
  • Unlined leather upper stretches at least half a size

Amazing shoe

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I rented these for about two weeks, and they are already in my cart for the next paycheck. These shoes take aggressive stances when you ask them to, but simultaneous they don't sacrifice comfort for those relaxed days on the wall. The rubber is incredibly grippy and doesn't rub when you are going for a shmeer. For anyone getting into climbing for that next step I heavily suggest this shoe for you. I set a PR with these shoes, I finally broke into the 5.11 b/c routes.

One thing I will say, these shoes are an odd sizing, I normally wear a street 12, or a 45 shoe. When I was sizing these I ended up wearing a 13, and even those needed some mileage until I felt truly happy with these.

This picture is me climbing a bulbous V3 at the employee gym at the GHO headquarters in SLC. I cannot wait until I actually own these and can truly wear and tear them on a daily basis.

Amazing shoe

Good Shoe!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These shoes are a great all rounder, from indoors to outdoors. The toe is a good blend between sensitive and stiff, along with five tens sticky C4 rubber. The heel of the shoe is good not great but better then many. Expect them to stretch 1/2 a size to maybe 1 size.

One shoe to rule them all

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 8 mens

These shoes are great at just about everything. From climbing scary slab routes at Smith Rock, to thuggy boulder problems in Joes Valley, these things will help you send. Of course it all depends on personal preference and foot sizing, so try them on before you buy, but I've found no need to bring any other shoe to the crag. I wear a street shoe size 9 and find these to be a "comfy" fit in mens 8s. The only downside with the older version was the Smurf feet, but that seems to have been corrected in the new version.

Excellent shoe!

I've always been a big fan of 5.10 and this shoe is just another one to add to the arsenal! Myself being primarily a boulderer I find these to be great for hooking on overhanging problems and stiff enough for slabs. The biggest issue I had at first is due to my longer middle toe and the sensitivity I had on the knuckle. The pain subsides after wear and break in and becomes very comfortable. I sized down one whole size from my street shoe (US11) and couldn't be happier!

Glad you're loving the shoe, Ryan!! Thanks for taking the time to write this review!

    How to Measure:
    Step 1:
Place a piece of paper on a hard floor with one end against the wall. Place your foot on the piece of paper with your heel against the wall.
    Step 2:
Mark the piece of paper where your toes end with a pencil for both feet.
    Step 3:
Measure your marking from your heel to the longest toe for both feet. Take the highest value and compare to size chart.
