The Ecoalf Men's Shinyuku Jacket exudes streamlined sophistication during uptown evenings, upscale events, and urban affairs. This minimalist trench jacket protects you from drizzly conditions and blustery weather with its wind and water-resistant properties. It's highly breathable, so you're never roasting underneath. Plus, there's a concealed two-way zip with a snap-fastening flap for protection from chilly breezes.
Staying true to Ecoalf's sustainable design ethos, the Shinyuku Jacket features a triple-layer fabric comprised of recycled PET bottles and Sorona renewable fibers. This recycled fabric saves 56 plastic bottles from going to the landfill, with Sorona yarns partially derived from plant-based ingredients (28% bio-based). Two-way mechanical stretch facilitates unencumbered mobility when you're cruising around town. Sealed seams prevent outside moisture from permeating inside and dampening your layers underneath.

- Q & A
I really wanted to love this coat, but..
- Fit: Runs small
- Size Bought: M
The material is supple (not stiff and crinkly), similar to a heavier weight Polartec Neoshell fabric (I like it!). The color viewed under indoor lighting is not as blue as the photo shows, but I'll check again in daylight (closer to a dark charcoal, matte finish with a slight sheen). The coat looks well constructed and the interior is the same dark charcoal color. My primary concern was the fit for size M (the model looks awfully thin). I am 5'11" 165lb and of sleight build and the coat was tight, particularly across the chest when zipped and if I had any significant layer underneath (i.e. bulky sweater). Forget about putting it over a jacket. I typically wear a trench coat open so this would still work. I was looking for a stylish rain shell that you can use for a nice evening out without looking as if you've just come off the mountain. The jury is still out whether I return this coat or not. The concept behind Ecoalf is taking manufacturing eco-consciousness to a higher level and that appeals to me.
