Stay protected when a squall blows through.

When fierce winds are blowing, the Eagles Nest Outfitters DryFly Rain Tarp stays firmly in place, thanks to eight tie points that keep it securely fastened to the ground. Of all the Eagles Nest tarp options, the DryFly is the most able to withstand harsh winds and gusty weather. Its PU-coated, durable nylon ripstop fabric resists tearing and keeps you dry when rain is pouring down, and its double-stitched, fully-taped seams are burly while ensuring water doesn't slip through the cracks. The DryFly is large enough to fully cover your hammock or sleeping area while providing room for gear storage.

    • Fully-taped, double-stitched seams
    • Secure design for high winds with eight tie points
    • Large coverage area for gear storage
    • Backpacking-ready light weight

    Doesn't come with stakes

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Packs down to less than 5L, so it won't take up too much room even if you bring it along and you never use it. Great construction and material. Just doesn't come with its own stakes.

    Never Getting Wet

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I haven't needed to use this for rain, but it did protect me from bird poop (which makes it more than worth the expense). I love all the tie-down points. I can tell this tarp could keep me dry in a torrential downpour. You should know that you'll probably want to invest in some stakes if you think there is a chance you'll encounter heavy wind. I used foot sized rocks to secure the side ties, but you'll want stakes to keep the tarp taut when it's windy.

If and when it rains, does the rain run down the foot/head of your hammock?

    It's needed

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I ventured into hammock camping a while back, and purchased this to make my trips a little drier. It works incredibly well, I really enjoy being able to situate the tarp differently thanks to its multiple tie down points.

I will say before you take this out on a trail, PRACTICE putting it up. It's a little more complex than it seems getting everything situated.

    Great Tarp

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a great tarp. Plenty of coverage for your hammock and gear. It's easy to set up. First time I used it, it hailed and rained that first night. It held up strong. It's not to heavy (574 grams)and packs down slightly smaller than my hammock.

    Great Tarp
