Rugged enough to travel anywhere.

The No Matter What Flatbed Rolling Carry-On Duffel Bag from Eagle Creek isn't just a clever name, it really is built to handle whatever. The Bi-Tech outer material is both abrasion- and water-resistant, and the stress points are reinforced with bartacks to ensure that not even the most abusive of baggage-handlers will destroy your suitcase. Luckily, this bag fits most international standards for carry-on luggage around the globe. This sturdy rolling suitcase features oversized wheels with protective wheel housing and lockable zippers on the outer main compartment for security. An external top pocket lets you keep a few things handy for easy access, and an interior mesh pocket on the inside of the door helps with organization. External daisy chain compression straps make sure that your things are held snugly.

Solid bag with slick look.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I travel half a month for business usually for a week or more at a time and it does exactly what you need while still being small, light, and without obnoxious flare. I bought the matte black color which isn't flamboyant, yet the design and simplicity makes it stand out against other bags if you have to get it valeted on a puddle jumper.
Top pocket works very well for security checks and/or toiletries and the mesh inside and spacious main compartment provide plenty of room for whatever your travel itinerary brings. I've used it for leisure car trips as well and it just makes it easier to fit camping gear and pack around it.
I dig it.

Business and Weekend Traveler

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I travel once every other month for business. I picked up this bag after blowing out a TJ-Maxx special on the way home from China last year. I love the bag. It holds plenty of clothing to get me through 1-2 weeks away from home. I had not had any problems fitting it into over head bins until flying on a dated 777 to Europe last month. It fit sideways but I could not close the bin with the wheels out. When the bag is really full it can make accessing anything stored in the small outside pocket difficult. I usually end up keeping anything that has to be pulled out for security, like liquids, just inside the top of the main compartment. From here I can pull them out without opening the entire bag. I prefer to keep cords and adapters in the small outside pocket instead. In cases when I have checked the bag, usually because I am bringing home a bottle of wine for my wife, the bright colors make it easy to spot in baggage claim. I love taking this bag on weekend family trips as well. The compression straps work well to keep the bag cinched down and are great for holding a pair of muddy boots after a weekend away or an extra layer in the airport. Great buy!
