Made for the big days!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
These skis are built for those high mileage days in the backcountry!
My ski setup:
Skis - Dynafit Tour 88
Binding - Dynafit TLT Speed Radical
Boot - Scarpa Maestrale XT
Skins - Pomoca Climb Pro S-Glide
I love this ski - it is lightweight without being too flimsy and versatile for all kinds of conditions in the backcountry. I represent the average backcountry user: not a rando-racer, but also not a beginner too timid to tackle the big open bowls and tight couloirs of the Colorado backcountry. The Tour 88 strikes the perfect balance for me in this regard. While it works great all winter, I found that this ski shines especially on long spring tours where the conditions change dramatically throughout the day. For times when booting up a steep section or up a tight couloir, it was easy to strap on a backpack, and performed reliably on the downhill. Don't be deterred by the skinnier waist and the "fat-ski craze" - I found the 88 waist to be just right and appreciated that there are companies out there that maintain this category of ski.
