ST Radical Binding

The Radical Binding is Dynafit's patron saint of the innovative TLT tech compatibility, and this new ST Radical Binding is the very same Radical, except the beefier heel piece amps up the Radical's rowdiness. This amplified rowdiness is ideal for backcountry skiers who eye every cliff on the way up the skin track in hopes of dropping some during the downhill. The beefed-up heel piece also allows 12.5 mm of length adjustment to increase or decrease the pressure on your boot, which determines whether you come out of the cliff-jump with or without your skis. If it's without, this binding is Dynafit's only Radical with brakes to make sure they don't careen downhill without you.

The rest of this Radical is the same Radical that first introduced backcountry skiers to TLT tech bindings. The side towers stab tiny prongs into your tech-compatible ski boots for a secure lock, and the heel piece goes from walk to downhill with a simple turn of the heel piece. There are two heel elevators to assist when the skin track gets steep. Dynafit designed the Radical frameless so it doesn't disrupt your skis natural flex, and its steel construction keeps a surprising strength for the binding's backcountry-friendly weight.

  • Beefier alpine touring binding built for backcountry skiing
  • TLT compatibility works with tech ski boots
  • Burlier heel piece allows length adjustments up to 12.5mm
  • Dynafit's only Radical with brakes

Just works...

Fairly easy to use, rock solid and trustworthy. A bit heavy and expensive. You get what you pay for, and when it comes to good tech bindings these are worth the $. I have several Dynafit tech bindings, incl. Beasts and 3 of these or their earlier versions, and have not been disappointed nor had an release issue (Knock on wood).

    Solid.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Might not be the latest, lightest, fanciest binding in the AT world, but for a gal finally switching over from alpine boots and clunky guardian bindings, this was a game-changer. They're light and simple to use with the slightest tug of my touring poles, making mid-skin heel riser adjustments easy-breezy. Then, once I'm clipped in, they provide bomber performance through deep snow, over deadfall, and winding through the rolling skin track back home.

    Put a Radical on It.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Dynafit threw it back (sort of) with this binding. OG Radical set up - no rotation - just a bomber tech binding at a solid weight/price.

For those of us who just need a binding without a lot of features, they brought the new materials to this binding, with the simple and trusted Radical design.
