    Beast 108 Speedskin

Stretch your Dynafit Beast 108 Speedskins over your Beast 108 skis and chase pow until the cows come home. A smooth and efficient mohair blend, these skins were designed to fly uphill so you can spend more time surfing the steep and deep. The waterproof membrane fights snow buildup to minimize drag, and the rubber tip attachment fastens your skins securely to your skis while you're busting your lungs on the skinner.

    • Climbing skins for lapping the steep and deep
    • Mohair nylon blend glides well with a solid bite
    • Pre-cut to your Dynafit Beast 108 ski
    • Waterproof membrane fights snow buildup
    • Secure rubber tip attachment

    Sketchy and Unreliable

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The parts that connect the skins to the tips and the tails have broken on a number of occasions, often when I was in remote areas. The rubber that connects the skin to the tip of the ski full-on ripped apart as I was putting the skin on the ski. I had to duct tape everything together in the backcountry. And both of the metal pieces that connect the skins to the tails of the skis also broke. I took them to MEC to get the rivets replaced and they did a good repair job which held but after the 3rd breakage I ended up sending them back. Just too dangerous to be in the backcountry with gear that is unreliable and not strong enough to do its job. Would not recommend these skins ever.

    Slight and Fast

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use these skins on my Beast 98s for work at the Colorado Mountain School in Boulder Colorado guiding ski touring and instructing avalanche education programs. I have used them more then 50 times so far.

I really dig the construction of these skins. As far as weight and packability goes they are great. I want my skins to disappear when they come off my skis and these do a great job of that. Although if your going to be walking on rocks as much as snow they might wear out faster than some beefy nylons.

The speed skin setup is also a great touch as it makes a quick rando-rip easy. If you cannot do this get some front release skins and learn because I'm not going to wait for you. Its also great when the skis are on the pack because you don't have tail clips to get caught on the rope.
