Recommended Use:

Big sky durability.

Tested by ranchers that work at 9500 feet, the Duckworth Men's Vapor Wool T-Shirt is durable enough for serious work and light enough to wear when you're on the move and the temperatures are up. The tri-blend material combines merino wool, recycled polyester, and modal fibers to give the shirt natural stretch, anti-odor properties, and breathability. Like all Duckworth products, the Vapor Wool is made with wool raised in Montana on the Helle ranch.

  • A lightweight tee for everyday wear in warm weather
  • Merino wool blend is breathable and odor-resistant
  • Made with wool grown in Montana on the Helle ranch

Mostly polyester and feels like it

  • Fit: Runs large

They call it a wool shirt, but immediately upon receiving it I knew that something was off. Looking closely at the product tag sewn inside, you can see that it is a blend with mostly polyester. If you want t shirt that feels like something straight out of the 70s, by all means go for it. If you actually want a merino wool shirt, look at other brands - something with 90% or more merino would have the benefits of merino with some extra durability. This shirt at this price point, with only 38% merino, is a scam.

So far so good

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

Great fit, the reviews say that it runs big, I don’t find that to be true but I went off the sizing guide. I normally wear a large but their size guide has me in a medium and it fits great. So take that for what it’s worth. I don’t think the shirt has any weird odors, but I wear a lot of merino shirts. It’s a comfy shirt without any obnoxious logos, for me that’s a win and the fit is good, a lot of merino shirts are tight for a base layer, this is just a casual fit tee.

The truth about this T shirt:

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: medium

So i read the reviews prior to ordering the shirt.and was a bit hesitant but have been desperate to find a new shirt for outdoor pursuits. I'm a daily runner and don't like to own a ton of stuff so I usually just wash my clothes in the shower with me. Over time the synthetic fabrics tend to really stink, especially my shirts. So I have wanted to try a Merino blend shirt to see if it will keep the odor down. I wasn't in the market for a $75.00 shirt so when I saw this one on sale recently I jumped on it especially because I wanted a grey marled/tri blend type pattern and something that looks amazing and this shirt really does. Plus it doesn't look dorky or too techy like most of the athletic gear you see. You could totally go trail running and hit a spot for coffee or beers after and not look like a tool.
My favorite t shirts of all time are the american apparel tri blend shirts - these are amazing because fit is spot on for Tall/thin folks and they look so good. Like 1970's workout shirts. I'm 6'2 and 175 -180 pounds depending on the season and I was blown away by the fit of this shirt. I think it is a hair too big, but honestly it is in a totally flattering way rather than other some shirts that fit terribly. It has a totally fashionable / appropriate amount of drape.
Performance wise - Here are my thoughts:
I bought this for high aerobic activities like running, trail running, backpacking, and bikepacking. I have to say that I do think the merino adds a little bit of heat to the mix compared to a 100% synthetic shirt. But this shirt is surprisingly breathable which I have to think is in part to the modal and recycled polyester content. So even though it was a little warmer, I was able to tolerate it. This probably isn't a big deal in dry / arid environments, but for the hot and humid south east it's noticeable. Dealbreaker? Probably not. But something to know before dropping the coin.

Smell wise - it totally does have a kinda earthy wooly smell, but WTF do people expect? It's merino wool. Plus I'd rather smell like wooly goodness than a yeti which Is what my synthetic shirts smell like after 1 season of use.

All and All I am really happy with this purchase. If you are on the fence I say do it - treat yourself.

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: Medium

Unpleasant material, had a strange odor, a size and a half too big. Being made in USA is the only thing that kept it from getting one star. All in all a waste of time.

Best shirts ever made

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

I have worn this same Duckworth shirt for over a week straight eveyday without washing or air drying, and not once did it even remotely smell/stink. I usually dont write reviews, but felt compelled to respond to the first review here, claiming the shirt “smells terrible” ? No its just you
If I can wear it everyday non stop (even sleeping in it) and wearing it to work, and it doesn’t smell!
Also, fit of this vapor shirt is a 10/10 spot on, as well as the quality. Duckworth stuff is top notch IMO
I have only handwashed this once in the 2 months I’ve owned it.

Not what I expected.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

The fit and length is great, I am 5'10" and lean 165lbs. It fits like a normal, good fitting tee should, snug in the shoulders, chest and arms, but not too tight through the body. I like that this is made in Montana. It is of good quality and seems to be durable, I wear it casually around town, no bushwhacking or trailblazing. The merino wording is just for show, this shirt smells terrible! I have washed it several times, by hand most of the time. I have had many merino shirts that fall apart, if you don't wash them by hand. This has no advantage over any normal cotton or synthetic t-shirt whatsoever, as far as odor goes. I know the merino is not doing it's job, since this shirt smells even if you air it out after wearing it.

I was going to buy several more duck-worth shirts, I really like the look of their three button Henley, it looks more masculine than other brands, but I need more merino performance. It's hard to find a good looking 3 button merino Henley, I will probably go with Fjallraven, but they are always out of stock.

Pros: Awesome fit and look! Made in Montana! Seems durable! High quality and attention to detail!

Cons: Merino is just for show. It does not control odor.

Hey Catherine,
I'm sorry this wasn't what you expected! Merino naturally resists odor by being anti-bacterial, but that doesn't mean it will never smell. If you need anymore help, please use the Chat button at the top of the page, or give us a Call at 1-800-409-4502!

How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Bend to the side and measure around the place where your waist bends, keeping the tape a bit loose.
